Yesterday

I actually finished one of the bookshelves...okay - not finished, but the sanding is complete. Now it just needs to be stained. While sanding said book shelf, I got a lovely sunburn to go with it! YAY! - I love the sun, I love the warmth it provides, I love the way it gives you that summer care-free feeling, the way you feel like a kid again looking forward to summer, jumping in a pool, spending time with friends. But I also hate the sun! I was not bron with olive skin - I am the classic "skin cancer beware" kind of person. I have red hair, blue eyes, and pale skin that freckles. I try to be careful, something I have had to learn by watching my mom have MANY MANY cancerous moles or spots from her skin. I give myself a healthy inspection at least once a month...hell, if something looks questionable, I take a photo, then another after 1 -2 and 3 months...if it is changing rapidly - I go straight to the doctor. Basically it isn't a matter of IF I will get skin cancer, its a matter of WHEN.
After I showered, we all ate lunch and Landry went down for a nap. When she got up, we headed to the park. This time, I slathered myself and the kids with 70SPF sunscreen. Landry had such a great time on the swing..Logan played hide and seek with me. He would go down the slide first, then hide behind it while Landry and I went down....then I would go through the whole "Where's Logan"....until he would jump out. We stayed for about an hour...I put some photos on facebook, but here are a few...
Also, wanted to let you know I have broken the 133 barrier...I weighed in at 132.6 - LOL JR is losing so much weight its really crazy. Last year, our friends Desmond and Stefanie got married at the end of May. JR decided to buy a suit, so we had to stop at Men's Warehouse to get him a shirt and tie to match. Well the shirts, were $96 but they were having a buy one get one free sale...They only had one shirt in JR's size...but for 100 bucks, I told him to pick another one out and maybe one day he would lose some weight. So anyway he did. About a month and a half ago, JR had an interview, so he put on that "smaller" shirt, and came to me going - holy crap...why did I buy a shirt that is this small. I told him the reasoning (I guess he forgot), but then I told him he must have gained weight because the shirt wasn't THAT small on him last May. At this point he could barely button the shirt. Fastforward to last night...he came into the kitchen wearing the shirt...and it fits him perfectly! Geesh! He says he would like to be down to 290 by his birthday...that's 2 months away...and about 45 - 50 pounds...I told him he should aim for 300...so I guess we will see. But he has lost about 25 pounds in only 22 days...so I guess that's something...I guess if he keeps going at this pace then it is perfectly logical to lose 50 pounds in two months!

He is doing GREAT! I am so proud of him, and he is just trucking along! Keeping up the good work. Its kind of hard for other people to tell, because he is still a big guy - so it will be interesting to get yours and Travis' perspective when yall come in a couple of weeks. I guess we will see how noticeable it is to others...I notice mainly because I pay such close attention to how his clothes fit, so its easy for me to see which "tight" shirts actually fit him now, and which "regular" shirts are actually baggy! Plus, he has had to tighten his belt - but I told him we should hold off on buying new jeans at least until the end of the month...even then, I dont want to buy a whole new wardrobe because he will continue to lose weight....it is very exciting! I am a little disappointed in myself - but I do feel better and sleep better, and I think my belly is getting flatter...so we will have to see!
