Most amazing weekend

This weekend we had a full house. It was Logan's 1st T-ball games and his 4th birthday celebration. We all had so much fun, I really just can't get over how smooth everything went. Well - there was one hitch....dinner Saturday night. We really wanted to take everyone out to Salt Lick...the most awesome BBQ in the state of Texas. We got out there and there was a 2 hour wait, so we headed back into town and tried a place called Milts...I am not a big fan of the place, but JR reminded me that it was BYOB and we already had alcohol in the cooler since the Salt Lick is also BYOB. I had my head wrapped around the idea of BBQ so I said okay. JR called ahead and they said they had room for a group of 16, but when we got there it was packed due to the fact they were having a crawfish boil. I had to pee so bad and I was so irritated because I felt so bad about the whole situation. So we circled the wagons and headed back up the road less than a mile to try out Railroad BBQ which is also BYOB. Pretty much all of the restaurants here are BYOB...its the hill country - also known as Hillbilly country! LOL I was really glad the place was empty when we got there and that it turned out they had some really great food! So I guess if that was the biggest problem we had...things were pretty amazing!
Friday night, the Ward family as well as Jason and Davin (my brother-in-law and nephew) came into town around 9:30 and 10. We stayed up for a little bit, and chatted. Nikki and I shared a glass of wine and caught up while the boys watched basketball and did the general manly grunting. We got up early the next morning and headed out to Logan's T-ball game. I was pretty busy worrying about Logan that I didn't really notice all that much during the game, except what he was doing. On top of that my mom kept calling me to yell at me for not being able to find the baseball fields. I gave her directions from yahoo maps, I tried to talk her through it on the phone...nothing worked and she was mad and I wasn't wanting to talk to her. She was irritating me while I was trying to watch my sons first game - ughh! Anyway, they ended up finding the field as we were heading back to the car AFTER the game. I was so excited to have so many people there because I didn't have to worry about Landry at all...there were at least 2 people with her at all times while JR and I dealt with Logan. I dont know what I am going to do next week! LOL Logan seems to work best when he is bribed - haha...Carol (JR's mom) had apparently bought a bunch of bubble gum that JR was using to bribe him to do things...the only problem was JR didn't realize it was gum. He thought it was candy, so Logan kept swallowing it! LOVELY!
After the game, we came back to the house to relax for a few minutes and chat. We did that for almost an hour before loading up again and heading into Austin for Gatti Town. I was really nervous about all of it because nothing had really been PLANNED. JR said he wanted to take care of everything this year...I have a problem with some control issues so this was very difficult. I wanted a reservation, and party plan...the whole nine yards. JR wanted to just show up and order several pizza's for everyone and then let everyone go to the game room. First let me say I haven't been to Gatti Town since a friends birthday party in 5th grade....it was much different back then. I thought the game room would be like it used to be...pretty much just arcade games. Anyway, I am getting ahead of myself. On the way there, JR said something as a joke to me and I told him not to joke because I was really worried. I asked if he had even called the place to see if you could buy whole pizzas..he said no - and I responded with, so what if we get there and have to pay for a buffet for everyone...he assured me that wasn't the case and to relax. We got there and guess what...you had to pay for a buffet for each person! Ha. All in all, it actually worked out better, #1 everyone could eat whatever kind of pizza was out, plus the desserts, and salad bar #2 they could have unlimited amounts #3 it ended up being cheaper than what the actualy party package would have been. So kuddos to my husband for not stressing about plans. For some crazy reason things always work out for him...if it had been me...well it would have been another story. Logan watched Scooby Doo the entire time he ate his pizza..it was great - and I caught several of the adults getting pretty engaged in the show as well. LOL Brittany and Carol (my mother-in-law and sister-in-law) brought tons of cupcakes, a cupcake rack, balloons with Logan's name, a giant balloon in the shape of a 4...they came prepared to decorate for a party LOL. It was AWESOME. After everyone ate we took the kids to the game room...and let me just say..this place was NUTS...there were bumper cars, and actual amusement ride, air hockey, carnival games, the basketball shooting game, regular arcade games....they had EVERYTHING. JR put $10 on the game card...and apparently that lasted for quite a while (the entire time) until I put an extra $2 so we could get in the photo booth. I was a little bummed that everyone had to pay for there own games...I really wanted to do that for everyone...it was part of the party package..but in the party package only kids were allowed to get a game card for $5, so I guess it wouldn't have worked out anyway. Plus, I dont think anyone minded all that much, but still I felt kind of bad. So i finally rounded everyone up so we could open presents...it was getting late, Landry was getting sleepy - and I knew for a FACT that Aiden would have no problem sleeping under the table if his parents would let him...the poor little guy was such a trooper. Logan, hit the jackpot - he had so many gifts! I was literally in awe of how wonderful it was to have so many people there and celebrating with us. We had a lot of friends and family that came in from the Houston area and it warmed my heart to have them with us. After all the gifts were open people went back to the game room for a bit. After about 15 minutes I went to tell JR to hurry and use up the rest of the money on the game card so we could pay the bill and go. 20 minutes later I was getting a little antsy. Another 20 minutes later I could feel the walls closing in. Anxiety was setting in, and we really needed to get out of there. After another 15 minutes we finally paid the bill and said goodbyes and headed for the car...then I had a small panic attack and by the time I got home was all better. We put the babies and Logan to bed. The guys went back to watching tv. Brittany and Carol took a nap and Dana, Nikki, and I drank some wine!
I will finish the rest later - this is becoming a novel and I need to get back to being a mom!
