This weekend was pretty nice. We didn't do much. JR has sciatica and has been such a wimp about it. He has been having it for about 3 weeks now off and on, and it just flared up on Wednesday or Thursday. He told me the symptoms, I told him what it was. He asked how I knew...I was like ummmmm....I had it for virtually 7 months straight while I pregnant with Landry, and about 5 months with Logan...not to mention that pregnancy has screwed my back that was already crappy to begin with...so I still get it all the time. He responds with, "Well, it must not have been that bad because I can barely move." OMG!!!! I just laughed and laughed and laughed. He asked what he was supposed to do about it...I told him there wasn't much he could do. Tylenol to help with inflamation and pain, heating pad, and stretching...that's about it. He didn't like my answer, so he decided to get on WebMD and type in the symptoms he was having...sure enough sciatica was the first thing that popped up...then he decided to research sciatica just to be sure! He can be so annoying. Later he called his mom to complain to him, I guess I wasn't sympathetic enough to his pain...although I did let him sleep until noon! His mom believes in all these wierd things...so she told him sciatica is caused by monetary stresses! LOL Considering we are finally stable enough to be putting money back into the savings account, our financial troubles are on the mend as of now...so I dont think that is it! Hahah. About 3:30 on Saturday I finally talked JR into going with me to my parents house to pick up the bed for the guest room and the book shelves. We put the bed in there...it is a full size mattress, but it pretty much takes up the entire room...I have no idea what to do about that! Then I started on the bookshelves...Let me just tell you that when they were bought (about 20 years ago) they were stained, and coated with polyurethane....about 15 years ago, my mom decided to put a primer on them and paint them maroon to match our furniture...of course, my mom ALWAYS uses two coats. Therefore, I am trying to sand through about 5 layers just to get to the grain of the wood. I worked for several hours on Saturday, then all day yesterday. I went to Lowes for more sandpaper...and ended up buying some paint stripper...It definitely helps get the paint off...but it makes such a mess and well...I understand why my mom gave up...but I wont - I just have to find the best method. I started contemplating just painting over the paint...but I would really like them to look nice...So I will keep trucking along! I just want to finish them before everyone come down for Logan's party in a couple of weeks! So today, I am going to keep working on the shelves, I have to hit up the HEB at some point...and I need to sweep and vacuum. I have decided that I am going to sweep and vacuum at least every 3 days! We will see how long that lasts, but I really like keeping my house spotless (except for the toy room). It is so nice to go to bed at not think about everything that needs to be cleaned the next day...and it really is calming to wake up and walk into the CLEAN kitchen. I am going to try really hard to kee it up!
Hope everyone has a good week...Logan's first REAL T-ball practice is on Thursday...I am so excited and nervous at the same time! LOL
