the rest of the weekend

First, let me note, that I have changed the settings on my blog to where it is back open to the public...I figure enough time has passed to where certain people will not think to come back and check it and I will also try to be more concious of what I say on here. This may be a little hard for me, because this truly is like a journal for me...its a place to vent - open up and share my feelings. Sometimes, I get upset about something and just need to say what I am thinking at the moment, but once I get it out, I feel better - so with all this said...I am going to finish up my earlier post.
The girls and I drank some good wine and had some great adult conversations. Then about 5:45 we got ready to head out to the Salt Lick in Driftwood. We were meeting my parents there but had to make a quick stop at the liqour store for more wine and beer. By the time we got there my parents had called to tell us about the 2 hour wait...yuck. Normally we would have waited but we had babies that we needed to think about. Landry would have been a monster had we kept her out that late. So we opted to head back to town and try a different BBQ joint. Of course as I mentioned earlier, this didn't work out because they were having a crawfish boil. My mom didn't want to sit outside, and there really wasn't a place for us to sit considering we had a group of 16. So we left and went a mile up the road to yet another BBQ place...and it turned out to be awesome. After dinner we all came back to my house for a game of apples to apples. There were 11 people playing, and I have to say that it was HILARIOUS. My dad cracks me up. I love being around him in these types of settings...its like his personality gets amped up and I love it. I am still wondering how in the world Aiden and Landry slept through the night since we were SO VERY LOUD...well actually, poor Aiden didn't get to sleep through the night since the kids went back to the room he was staying in and turned on the light - waking the poor guy up. Oh man I was so mad...but Nikki and Travis were so easy going about the whole thing - and I guess it was okay becuase Aiden went back to sleep - but man I was I ticked at those kids. It did calm me down to see Nikki and Travis so calm about it. I dont know how I would have reacted if some kids went and woke up my baby...but I guarantee it wouldn't have been anywhere near as nice as they were. LOL Another sign of my lovely anxiety. We all stayed up until after 1:00am playing...whew! It was a really great time. The next morning I woke up to find Landry in her high chair (Thank you, Nikki) luckily I didn't sleep much later than when she woke up or I would have felt REALLY bad. Landry'r room is on the complete opposite side of the house, so there was no way for me to hear her...I usually sleep in the room next to hers...and I am usually up before she is - so it was weird not being able to hear her. I woke up JR, who went to the kitchen to make breakfast! Yummmmmmmy! Toast, fresh strawberries, turkey bacon, and southwest style eggs! Carol and Brittany got on the road first...probably around 10 or 10:30 and then The Ward Family left around 11 - 11:30. I was sad to see them all go - but I was so happy to have had them all here. The rest of Sunday was spent lounging around the house...I watched "Life as a House" and bawled my eyes out...then I watched "The Last Song" and bawled some more...and then to top it all off I watched "Army Wives" and Bawled even more. My whole face was bright red...it was awful. I woke up this morning with the puffiest eyes ever! It was NUTS....I looked like I had two black eyes...this is the first time my eyes have ever been swollen with dark circles under them - so I guess I am getting older! LOL
Geez Louis!!! All in All.....best weekend of the year - so far!

That breakfast was AWESOME. I was glad Travis liked the turkey bacon because he's always complained about it in the past. I'm going to try it again!

I totally forgot about the kids going in and waking up Aiden. Poor guy. LOL! If Aiden wasn't such a good sleeper, I might have freaked out. But I know he can go back to sleep easily, so it's not a big deal. It's one of the risks of staying at someone else's house. ;)

I'm really bummed we didn't get to eat at Salt Lick. Next time we visit, we have to go there in the afternoon so we can eat and get out by the kids' bedtimes. Mmmmm... Thankfully, Railroad BBQ was awesome. And the kids even got to see a real train. Haha!
