Okay - here's a lot about nothing and a little about something!
Today is JR's and my anniversary. I seriously can't believe that we were married two years ago today. It just doesn't seem that long ago. JR and I didn't exactly do things the way I would like my kids to do it. For all the "modern" ways JR and I have lived, I am actually pretty traditional. JR and I met 10 years ago at a big party I threw out in Galveston. We were both going to school at A&M Galveston....well he was going to school - I was enrolled but not too interested in actually attending classes! LOL We didn't really get to know each other, but oddly enough we ran in the same circle of friends. Then 6 years ago, I moved back to Galveston after a bad break up, vowing to spend the next year single, and working on finding out who I was and wanted to be. 6 months after living there I ran into JR and Brandon at Tortugas Margarita Monday. Brandon and I were really good friends when I lived there during college days, so he introduced JR and I - and while we had already met years before, we didn't really remember each other. We all started hanging out, going to the bar - going to parties etc. JR asked me out several times, but I declined due to my 1 year single rule. After the 4th time he asked me out, he said he wasn't going to anymore because I always said no...I explained the one year thing, but I dont think he got it. So I told him I would go out with him...BUT NOT AS A DATE! LOL Months passed and we were still hanging out and I was starting to really like him. We were dating, but I refused to call it that...we were both free to date other people and all that nonsense. In January 2006, he started to tell me he was ready to settle down and have a relationship...I told him I wasn't ready. On Feb. 2 2006 I had been single for exactly one year...I told him I was ready and we started dating. 5 days later he broke up with me! LOL The first couple of months were pretty rocky. He didn't know if he was REALLY ready, so we had what I call a Monday through Friday relationship. We would be "dating" Monday - Friday...and single on the weekends. Basically he wanted to go to the bars with his friends and not have me tagging along. It was pretty stupid, because we always ended up at the same bar, and ended up at either his or my apartment! On June 14, my birthday, he decided he was really serious and asked me to move in with him and Brandon. I took a couple of weeks to Decide, and moved in the last week of June. By August I was taking a pregnancy test...and voila! Logan came into the picture. Neither of us thought that getting married just because we were going to have a baby was a good decision, and we were just starting to learn more about each other as we lived together. March 23, 2007, our little boy was born, and JR and I continued to grow as partners and as parents. Fast forward a year, JR proposed to me in May 2008 and we began to plan our wedding. We were married in Las Vegas on this day - March 17, 2009. Saint Patricks Day. It was amazing. I was almost 3 months pregnant when we got married. October 15, 2009 we welcomed our princess to our family. As I said, we didn't do things in the conventional way, but I dont think I would have changed anything. Logan was a surprise, but he also helped us see that we were getting older and it was time to stop spending everynight at the bar and grow up a little. Landry was what I call a planned surprise. See, we decided to start trying after Christmas, I was previously on the depo shot and was told by my doctor that if you are on it for more than a year, it could take up to 18 months to get pregnant. You get the shot every 3 months and my last shot was in October, so I was due for another shot in mid-December but decided not to get it since we were going to start trying. I got pregnant on the 1st of February...basically, JR and I were ready and hoping for the pregnancy, but neither of us expected it to happen so quickly. So, on my first trip to Vegas, I didn't actually get to experience the entire energy because I was already pregnant. I still stayed up til the wee hours of the morning at the roulette table, but instead of beer or other alcohilic beverages I was drinking Virgin Mary's! LOL I did have a whole beer directly after my wedding - well it was more like 3/4 of a beer...but my nerves were SHOT! And yes, Landry is perfectly healthy! Anyway, while we have only been married for two years, it seems as though it has been longer because of all the things we have gone through together, and at the same time - it doesn't seem like that long at all, because I feel like we are still in the honeymoon stage. We have our ups and downs, but there honestly isn't anything that we couldn't get through together. JR is my rock and my weakness, he is my sanity and my insanity, he is my everything. He is there to make me laugh when I am down, to hold me when I cry, to calm me when I am going crazy, to make me crazy when I am calm. He is my biggest supporter, my loudest fan, my encourager, my best friend. I am so lucky to have met, married, and started a family with such an amazing man. He is the love of my life.
Some Random things...yesterday when I took Logan to play T-ball, he kept getting mad because his shoes were getting dirty! First of all - when I took him to buy these darn shoes, he first wanted Iron Man shoes, then he wanted Cars shoes, then Spriderman shoes...then he wanted the Toy Story shoes...and when I finally said enough is enough and we were headed away form the shoe section he saw the iron man shoes again and decided he wanted them...but instead I just gave him the iron man box and kept the Toy story shoes...So, he doesn't like to be dirty...his shoes kept getting mud on them, and it was driving him crazy...then when he would pick up the balls that he had hit, he realized that they were wet and had dirt on them as well...(It had rained the night before) He kept wanting me to clean them...ughhhh - WEIRDO!
So this morning I take the kids to HEB for a few items we needed...I HATE TAKING THE KIDS TO THE GROCERY STORE WITH ME! Logan decided he wanted a new Lightning McQueen - normally I would say no, he used to have about 6 of them, and one by one they disappear - EVERYTIME ISAIAH COMES OVER - so figure that one out...so I let him get one today...I told him it was an early birthday present. As I am standing there with him picking out which one he wants, I turn to check on Landry, who is holding a stuffed puppy, and saying over and over - puppy, puppy, puppy! I cracked up laughing..I left the store with all that I needed plus 2 lightning McQueens and 1 stuffed puppy! LOL When we get in the car I open the cars packages for Logan and he strats telling me that Lightning is dirty...he picked out a Lightning with the little paver thing in front of the car from when lightning paves the road...I try to tell him what it is and why it "looks" dirty, but it really isn't. He says, "Oh my God, Mommy...he's dirty!" What can I say...i just laugh and say okay. As soon as we get home, I unlock the door, Logan goes straight to the bathroom and washes the damn car in the sink...WEIRDO! Pretty cute, and pretty funny...but whew - he is a little odd! LOL
Hope you all have a great day! I know I will!
