Logan is in full-on birthday mode. At 1, 2, and 3 - I dont think he really understood the concept of his birthday...then again, we didn't do anything super special for his 2nd and 3rd birthdays. The past couple of weeks we have been talking about his birthday and how our friends and family are going to come and stay with us to celebreate his special day! We went through some photos on facebook so he could remember the names of everyone...he was so funny talking about each person and he started to tell us what they were going to get him...I dont remember it specifically, but it was kind of like - "that's grandma...she's coming to see me for my birthday, I'm going to be 4. She is going to bring me a lightning McQueen present!" It was the same speech for every person, only a different gift. I laughed and laughed. He has been naming off things he wants all weekend - while I am so happy to see him excited...it's starting to wear on me a little! LOL
In my previous post I told you that my parents watched the kids on Saturday night. On sunday, Logan woke up and said, Mommy, we need to go to the store. I asked what we needed from the store and he told me he needed to get his monster truck Mater. He went on to tell me that it had a remote control for the tires and all sorts of stuff. I shrugged it off and went about my day. Finally last night, he was still talking about this dang thing so I asked...where did you hear about this monster truck mater? He looked at me like I was the crazy one, and said, "My papaw is getting it for me for my birthday!" So I called my dad - because I was thinking...crap - where are we ever going to find a MONSTER TRUCK that is also MATER? My dad just laughed and said Logan was telling him all about it, but he didn't say he would get it for him...geez! As the night went on...I asked Logan what store he saw it at...he says, "Oh my God, mommy! I will show you." He goes over to JR, who is on the computer, and says, "daddy, excuse me, but I need to look at something really fast!" This is hilarious, because JR says this to Logan ALL THE TIME! He gets on the computer, pulls up disney.com, goes to the "store" and low and behold---there is a freaking remote control Monster Truck Mater! It's also 50 bucks...he tells us we have to watch the video...and it talks all about the remote and the tires, and all the things Logan has been telling us about all day. This kid is nuts! LOL
JR and I decided to get him a bike for his birthday because he has been playing with the neighbors quite a bit lately...it's so cute...he says - mommy, I need to play with my friends! I love it. Anyway they have bikes and we spent this past week trying to teach Logan how to pedal...he has it down, but he still doesn't have the leg strength to go up the hill...only down - and on top of that...he is very cautious. I asked JR if we could get him a helmet...and JR laughed at me - he said he had training wheels AND Logan goes as slow as a snail...but I am still going to try and talk him into it! Its pretty funny to watch him go so slow.
I am going to do something I shouldn't today...I am going to take the kids to the outlet mall. There is a Disney Store there, and I am going to go see if they have one of the Mater monster trucks...This is going to be a disaster...but I am going to do it anyway. I am really hoping to find one or at least something else he will like that is more in the $20 price range. I told JR that it was to make up for giving him the shaft the last two years....although now that I think about it...I buy him new toys all year round...so is he really getting the shaft??? I think not - the kid is pretty lucky. Anyway - I am off...enjoy your Monday!
