Last night was a disaster! I made dinner, we all sat down to eat. Logan decided he didn't want meat loaf, all he wanted was bread and butter - I would call it toast, but he doesn't like it toasted. I told him he had to eat at least 4 bites before I would give him any bread. He didn't like that, so I just sat down and started eating. JR could have been on another planet for all the help he was. He sat on the couch, played on the computer and ate his dinner. Never saying a word. He didn't get home until after 7, and I was tired, so I chose to go with the ignore tactic. So I did - I ignored Logan while he was whining and crying for bread. When I was finished I went to put my plate in the sink. Logan had stopped crying but he was still acting up, we were talking - I know I was getting on to him, but I dont remember what it was. I know I told him he needed to sit down and eat on several occasions. Then I was at the sink washing dishes - and BAM! The bar section of our counter vibrates. I assume he has hit the TOP of his head, so I say, "see, if you were sitting down....Ahhhh" At that point I had seen him. I thought oh God, he broke his nose. I thought I was going to be sick, I am panicking - I mean full fledged panic. My heart is racing, I dont remember hearing anything. I saw his eyes tear up, but I dont remember hearing him cry. I have no idea where Landry was. I remember looking over at JR who was still sitting staring at the computer. I remember shrieking (and that's probably an accurate description) for him to get up...Actually, I think I just JaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I dont really know what all happened then, I know I tried to get ice, but my hands were shaking so badly that I couldn't do it and then JR told me that I needed to go to the back room until I could calm down because I was scaring Logan. I went and sat on Logan's bed, I cried, but I remember thinking that I needed to be with Logan not sitting on a bed. I was still crying, but the shrieking had stopped. When I walked into the living room Logan was sitting in JR's lap. JR was holding him, rocking him and talking calmly to him. I picked Logan up and just held him so tight and cried and cried and cried. JR wiggled his nose around. I wanted to take him to the ER, but JR said I was over reacting. He said Logan was fine, it was just a scrape. I still think we should have taken him to the ER. I gave him children's tylenol and put neosporin on the scratches. This morning, the bright red had turned to a very dark red, and I expect tomorrow the bruising will begin to show. We will see.
Most of you have already seen it, but - here is what he looked like right after the accident.
