Catching up...

Time has not been on my side lately, and my Blogging has suffered - LOL! First, let me go back to the weekend before last. JR played in a golf tournament benifitting the Wimberley Athletic Booster Club. While he and the other 3 guys on his team played. Vanessa, the kids, and I sat in the shade and chatted. The kids had a blast. Logan played golf about half the time with his dad and the rest of the time he played in the golf cage - its kind of like a batting cage...just for golf. Landry spent most of her time following my dad around. "Papaw, Papaw, Papaw..." that is all she cared about! He took her for a ride on the gator. Even though he was busy making sure everything was running smoothly, he was so patient with her and spent every spare second holding her, playing airplane with her...doing pretty much whatever she wanted him to do. It seems that every man she is around crumbles. It is amazing just how quickly she can wrap them around her finger!
On Thursday, JR was able to come home so that I could go to the dentist. The pain was down to about a 4 which was really good because once I started having to bite down for X-rays the pain came back quickly. As I said before, I have not been very good about going to the dentist...the last time I went was when I was pregnant with Landry, so I was really scared that I would have a mouth FULL of cavities. Luckily, I have good dental hygiene because in all my 28 years I have only had 2 cavities. However, the one that was causing so much pain will result in a root canal. I go in tomorrow at 11 for a cleaning, then they will do the root canal, then a temporary crown. I will go back in a few weeks to get the other cavity and my permanent crown. My mom is coming to watch the kids and I am so thankful for the help. Tonight, I have Isabella and Isaiah staying the night and Logan is over the moon! This tooth thing wouldn't bother me as much if I hadn't apparently been scammed 5 years ago when I was told I had a root canal and paid $1200 for it only to find out on Thursday that the tooth has never had a root canal. I wish I still had the reciept or even the name of the dentist that did it - I would seriously sue the hell out of them...and I am pretty sure my insurance company could sue them as well for fraud!! This whole thing, cleaning, filling, root canal, crown is going to cost me $1000 and that is WITH insurance. Luckily, I qualified for credit and we are just paying it monthly for 4 months to avoid an interest...but still, $250 dollars a month is going to make things tight!
Friday, I got up early - we had to be at the football field in Wimberley at 8am. My dad was getting the football team pictures done and he wanted a photo of all his grandkids and him for the programs they sell at every game. I think they are actually going to turn out pretty well! 4 kids all looking at the camera is pretty amazing - even if they aren't all smiling! I can't wait to see them. Afterwards, I took the kids to my parents house so the kids could play. I had only had two hours of sleep due to my tooth, so I was pretty worn out. But, screaming children, talking to my mom, and 2 redbulls really helped out! LOL I headed home about 1 in order to get my house picked up for company that was coming later that evening.
Once company arrived, we got into a long game of poker - I was in it till the end and finally at 5:15am I said I was cashing out....I walked away with $60...considering I put in $20 and JR put in $40...we broke even! LOL
Saturday we went to the river - it was pretty awesome. My mom and the kids met up with us and all together we had a group of 14 adults and 4 kids. Mom and I pretty much stayed off to the side and chatted the whole float. we were out there for about 6 hours - and it was really relaxing. Well - it was for my mom and I....I wasn't in the best of moods because of my tooth and the lack of sleep - so I knew that some of the people on the float were going to annoy me! LOL My friend Nikki (not you Ward - a different one) that was floating with us started laughing at me at one point and told me I had very little tolerance for bull shit...she's right! I love her to death for being able to find humor in my not so proud moments! LOL The kids had the best time EVER. They played and played and played some more. It was a REALLY great day.
We ordered pizza on the way home for everyone, and once we got home everyone ate, showered, and got dressed for the evening. They all went in to New Braunfels, and I chose to stay home with the kids. JR was so worried I would be upset, my mom offered to watch the kids...but honestly - I just wanted to read a book and pray for sleep!
Sunday was a lazy day. JR slept until noon, then I took a 3 hour nap - when I got up, JR took a nap...then we all went to bed....Hahaha - it was a long weekend, but it was so much fun!
Now you are all caught up - tomorrow I go in for my root canal - and honestly, I couldn't be more excited. To think that this pain will be gone, and I wont have to worry about the swelling of the side of my face every 3-4 months! Woohoo!

1st, what's a gator? Is it a golf cart?

2nd, if you used your insurance to get that "root canal" years ago, then they will have the dentist's information on file. I think it's worth checking because that is HORRIBLE.

hahaha...a gator is like a larger 4-wheeler, with a bed...kinda. I don't know how to explain it.
I will have to call..it was done under my old insurance. THe whole situation just pisses me off so much...but then aain, I probably shoud have researched it more. I should have seen the the "crown" they put on, wasn't an actual crown. Lessons learned.
