Night from Hell...

Well, here we are. It's 11:09, and I am sitting here drinking, more like GULPING, down Starbucks frappuccino. When I am finished with this one, you can most likely count on me going to get another one. Last night, Isabella and Isaiah came to stay the night. Randi and my mom both work overnight shifts. I think my mom gets off at 7:00 and Randi gets off at 9:00, but my dad usually leaves for work about 6:30 or 7:00, so there would be no one home to take care of them....thus, they came to stay with me. I have no idea what they plan on doing when school starts, NEXT WEEK, but I can tell you that I WILL NOT be driving them 30 minutes to Wimberley to take them to school. Not going to happen. Anyway, they have been at their dads for 2 weeks so Logan was so excited to see them...and they played and played. However, we have been doing really well with Logan sleeping in his own room - but it went down the drain last night. He was in bed with us...I couldn't sleep - ughhh! It was awful. First of all, we had a storm come through last night, and for those of you that dont know, I have arthritis in most of my joints. Fingers, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. My lower extremities are the ones mostly affected. The slightest changes in weather send me over the edge. So last night, I laid in bed (with only a VERY small space to try to stretch out my legs), I could not get comfortable. I tossed, I turned, I huffed and I puffed, but the pain only got worse and worse. On top of this I was burning up. Logan is like a little radiator, he puts off so much heat. At 12:15 in the morning, I couldn't take it any longer...I just wanted to fall asleep, so I picked him up and took him to his bed with the kids. Although, once he was gone, I cooled down considerably, I still could not go to sleep. I laid there and laid there and laid there, writhing in pain. At 1:30 I went downstairs to take some pain medicine. I stayed down to drink some water, and headed back, each movement, each stair agonizingly painful. As, I neared the top of the stairs, I promised myself to get to the doctor and get some prescription medicine. Maybe they can give me something to slow the progress of the disease, who knows. I have pretty much accepted the fact that I will one day have to have both hips and knees replaced, but last night, I was ready to just cut them off. When I reached the top of the stairs and climbed back into bed, I quickly realized that Logan had found his way back...I laid ther for about 15 minutes. I was crying, I was soooo tired, I just wanted to sleep, Logan was making me burn up, and they pain was keeping me awake. I couldn't even fall asleep....not even for just a few minutes. Ughhh! At 3:00 JR woke up and asked what was wrong with me...at that point I had gotten out of bed all together and was on the floor reading on my phone, while trying to stretch my painful joints and surrounding muscles. Apparently he was extremely hot as well, and Logan was laying sideways digging his feet into JR's ribs. I moved Logan over to my side and went back down those wretched stairs and slept on the couch. Well, really I laid on the couch, decided the medicine wasn't working so I took an aleve. The last time I looked at the clock it was 4:07. I woke up at 6:45, still in pain, but it was better. The reason I woke up, was because I was bitten about 45 times by mosquitos last weekend....I have 17 bites on one foot....in between the toes, on the top, on the heel, on the arch...and I guess I had been scratching in my sleep, but I guess it got out of control ad the scratching woke me up. REALLY??? I went to check on JR to make sure he wouldn't be late for work. Then I went back down stairs and promptly fell back asleep. I woke up at 8:00 with the kids. So now, I am just praying that the rest of the day can somehow go by at super human speed, because I am soooo tired, and to make matters worse, JR has a 2:00 am job tomorrow! Yipppppeeeee!
