Getting Better!

Last night was better for Landry - well I guess I should say it didn't take as many tries to get her to bed! I decided to wake her up 5 minutes early from 2 of her naps...I didn't want her to get tooooo tired, and I guess it paid off! She went to bed at 12:30 and woke up this morning at 8:45! Yay. 8 hours of non stop sleep - I just dont know what to do with myself! LOL
I have started letting Logan play the wii a bit more lately...I was a little worried about it because I dont like it when kids (or adults) get so wrapped up in video games. So I enforced an hour per day rule. I let him play for about 20 minutes each time he plays. At first it has hard for him because he just wanted to play, but now I have a little kitchen timer and I set it at 5 minutes. So at the end of his play time I show it to him and I set it...I tell him that when the timer goes off he has to put the game away. Fortunately, this has actually been working! I was pretty surprised! Anyway...it also makes it easy since the wii is in the living room, so I have full knowledge of when he is playing! We almost got him a little game boy for Christmas but JR said he didn't want Logan having a game system. I guess it makes sense...I too dont want my child to have his nose stuck to video games all the time. I like the idea of him playing outside and being active and having imagination. Not that you cant do all that if you play video games. I just think that if you set a time limit as to how much they can play then they can do both.

Oh man I don't even want to think about video games. It drives me CRAZY how into video games my brother is and I really don't want that for my child. He's going to hate me!! Or maybe we'll get lucky and he won't even be interested in that. Ha.

yeah...its kind of difficult, but I am adamant about the time limit. I refuse to let him play for very long. He is just a kid, so hearing no is hard, but he is starting to get used to it. Plus...I am trying to balance it by having him go outside and play.
