OMG

I have been putting off this blog because there is just so much...so I am going to try to summarize this weekend...
Friday, family began arriving at about 9:00...it seemed once the first people arrived, the next car pulled in 30 minutes later! LOL We all stayed up drinking and talking and catching up....I stayed up until 3:00 in the morning...AHHHHHHH
Saturday, I got up with Landry at 7:30...I was hurting - I wasn't extremely hung over, but I was TIRED! Carol, (JR's mom) went to HEB to buy breakfast foods. Shortly after she returned I took Landry down to my Dad. I dropped her off at 10:00 and headed back to Kyle. It took a while for everyone to get going, but we finally got on the road about 11:00. We had to stop at Wal-mart, so we left there at 12:25, and were in line for the tubes at 12:45. We had 8 adults, 2 kids, and 4 coolers! The cooler situation was RIDICULOUS...but luckily we were able to consolidate two of the coolers. We stood in line, in the heat, for what seemed like forever waiting to rent the tubes...but we finally made it through and got on the river and everything was BLISS! It was SOOOO relaxing and so much fun. JR was tied to our cooler, I was tied to Logan...it was perfect...except when JR would get to far away from me and I couldn't get to the cooler! LOL We took over 100 jello shots, and came back with 0..of course we did pass out quite a few along the float, and we made a batch without alcohol for the kids! We got to the end of the float, hung out at the rope swing for a while, went a little further down so people could go down the rapids (the only area that there are rapids...but it is strictly by choice as the have a stairway to get out of the river before the rapids hit). We all got on the bus and headed back to start over! It was a blast...on the second trip down the river, Lisa's mom and her boyfriend showed up...the more the merrier! IT was so much fun. This time we finished to float and Carol and Lisa took the boys back on the bus, while the rest of us stayed and went down the rapids! WOW..I was scared to go the first time...but man, after we went down, we just did it over and over and over again until we were informed that the last bus of the day was there, and we either had to catch it, or walk for a very long time...we chose to catch the bus! LOL From there we went to pick up Landry from my parents house...It was so nice to have a DD...I still didn't go crazy on the drinking because I had Logan with me and needed to stay alert enough for him. But it was nice that some people chose not to drink at all and were the drivers. After picking up Landry we headed to the Salt Lick (Best BBQ in the US...seriously, it won an award for it). There was a little issue at the restaurant, but while that family took care of their business, the rest of us ate, and had a really good time. Afterwards we headed home. Everyone was asleep before their heads hit the pillows...but Lisa and I stayed up talking...once again I didn't get to bed until 3:00.
Sunday, Landry slept in until 9:30....OMG I was so happy. Lisa, Brittany, and I went to get doughnuts for everyone. After eating breakfast and letting our food settle, we got back in our swimsuits and headed to the pool. We all swam for several hours, before realizing that it was 3:30 and we were all hungry. So we went back to the house, and everyone packed up their stuff and headed home. JR and I had leftovers while the rest of them grabbed something on the road! I was truly a wonderful weekend!
Yesterday or Monday, I took the kids to Austin and met up with JR for lunch at a place called Steaks and Shakes...I had never been...it was AWESOME! Definitely will be going back for more! I stopped on my way home to get my hair cut...it was in desperate need of attention...I got 3 inches cut off...whew! Now I can actually get a brush through it! YAY! Then I went to Kohl's and finally bought two pairs of shorts and a pair of capri pants...I imediately grabbed the size 9's...I have been in a size 11 or 13 for a very long time now, and I have lost quite a bit of weight, so I grabbed the 9's...to my surprise, they too were too big....so I went out and grabbed some 7's...they were a little tight...ughhh. So I guess I am in the in between stage. I found my capri's in a different section, and they were size 8's...they fit in the hips and butt, but are big in the waist..grrrrrr...I tried on the 6's....they were tight tight everywhere - except the waist! So I ended up with a pair of size 7 shorts and a pair of 9's and then I went with the 8 on the capris...I figure I will see what happens after wearing them for a bit....as long as they dont fall to my ankles when I walk or run up the stairs - it is a huge improvement!
Today - we are headed to HEB to get a few essentials, and tehn back to the river as soon as JR gets off work!!! YAY
