My weekend

This weekend was a lot of fun for me, even though JR had to work! YUCK! On Saturday, I did some cleaning, went to the grocery store, gave the kids baths, did some more cleaning, and waited for my husband to get home. I guess I was pretty bored because I even cleaned the doors...you know where it gets dirty from where people open it with there dirty hands! Anyway, when JR got home I asked him if he wanted to go over to our friends Chris and Katy's house, but he said that he was tired from working all day and had to be up early on Sunday but told me that he would stay home with the kids if I wanted to go....so I did! It was really nice to just sit and talk and have adult conversation. I only stayed for two and a half hours, but it was so nice to sit there without any distractions! No crying baby, no making a bottle, changing a diaper, getting Logan a juice, zipping Logan's shorts, making sure he flushed....nothing, other than the fact that JR called 7 times while I was there! LOL
Please dont get me wrong, I am not complaining about any of these things. I love my kids and everything that comes with it...I am just saying that it was very nice to get a short break! I was home by 10:15 and JR and the kids were all in bed!
On Sunday, we got up got all the river gear together and waited for the phone call from my mom or sister so that we could meet them at the river....we waited and waited and waited! Poor Logan was not very patient, he kept telling me, "Mommy, I want to go to the rivvvvvvvvvvvvvver!" Finally we headed out at about 1:30. We had such a good time. It was very eventful....we went to the San Marcos river because there aren't any rapids there and it is just a calmer river....the only one I will take my kids to! So we were over half way done with the float when my mom decides she wants to grab onto a branch and just hang out in the shade...so weall go to grab a branch, which turned in to Michael almost taking Randi and Vanessa's heads off because when he let go of a branch it snapped back...hahaha, it was hilarious. Then Randi grabs a branch that apparently grabbed her back because it put a hole in her tube and she had to put her finger in the hole to keep it from completely deflating! Michael lost his flip flops, and took the time to find them again...watching trash around in the water was too much, he looked like he was fighting alligators...but sure enough he came up with both flip flops!!! THen he lost his sunglasses and got those back....Then I lost my sunglasses....grrrr it was dramatic LOL. We decided to get out due to the deflating tube and the fact that Vanessa had to get on the road because she is going to summer school!!!Mom, Michael, and Vanessa all headed home and Randi and I decided to stay and let the kids play in the water. Logan and I went off the rope swing several times...it was so fun...except for him trying to drown me while I held him and swam back to the river bank....he had on a life jacket...but still doesn't grasp the concept that if I let go of him he WILL NOT SINK! hahah...My sister ended up slipping while trying to get Isaiah the rope, fell into the water, hitting every tree root there was. She has a HUGE and I mean HUGE bump on her backside and within minutes it was black and purple...she came over earlier and it is worse...she is keeping ice and she had an RN look at it while she was at work...eeek! It is not pretty...looking at it made me clench, it has to be painful!
It was a great weekend, I just wish my husband could have joined me!
Landry has accomplished pulling herself up, and is quite good at it. She does it all the time. Every time I go to get her out of the crib there she is standing up...I forgot that once they learn how to do this babies seem to forget that the bed is for sleeping and not for acting like a monkey...but we are dealing with it! She is so precious, I can NOT believe she will be 8 months old tomorrow! Geez! It is going by so fast!
