A little catch up

So many things to tell you, I don't know where to start! Thursday night we went to meet the teacher night! It was a mad house, kids and parents EVERYWHERE. Logan's teacher, Ms. Myrick (pronounced exactly how it looks My -rick) is very young. This will be her third year teaching, and kindergarten is probably really good for her. She is one of those super smiley, super happy people! LOL We got Logan familiar with the class room and filled out MORE paper work and the heck out of there. Ms Myrick did let us know that they were still enrolling students, and there is a possibility that they may hire another teacher. Ughh - seems a little late to be doing all that, but whatever. I hope he doesn't get moved.
Friday night we went to Wimberley to have dinner with my parents. There is a restraunt that we love to eat at because the food is great, the atmosphere is nice, and the kids can go play down by the creek. It is really beautiful there.Logan was a champ (for a bit) and let me take his picture. I actually got a few good ones that I am going to frame. He has a habit of moving around, or fidgeting when I take his picture. He also squints his eyes to where they look closed when he smiles. So there I am, going...Smile - open your eyes - dont move - smile..ughh! Actually, I was surprised he lasted as long as he did. Landry, on the other hand, did not want her picture taken, and they only way I could get a good shot of her was to have Logan next to her, but it worked out great because I got a really cute one of the two of them!
If you're wondering at all (you're probably not), the big tree is the same one that I used when taking a few of Landry's 1 year pics!
After dinner, we went to my parents house to pick up some bunk beds and some other stuff. Since my sister disappeared in May of 2011, my mom has been saying she was going to clean the upstairs. My sister lived with my parents, as well as her two kids. When she disappeared, the kids went to live with their dad. Anyway, there are three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. For the past ehh, say 6 months, my mom has started to clean out the bedrooms. My sister is/was a hoarder, so it is taking a LONG time. Plus, mom can only do so much before she has to take about a month off. The emotional upheaval is really hard on her, and if she goes on for too long the depression just eats at her. Mom packed up two boxes full of children's books, that she gave me...which is awesome, because even though I have a lot of books for the kids, we have already gone through all of them multiple times. There was a lot of stuff that I took, like a little Dora desk, and a plastic toy box...lots of stuff. Mom had her SUV loaded with trash bags full of clothes and stuff...there were 13 full bags, and this is her 4th trip. the sad thing is that she is probably a little less than halfway done. Anyway, we loaded up all our stuff and went home. Unfortunately, we had to leave half of one bunk bed behind because the screws had been stripped and my parents didn't have the tools needed to get it apart.
Saturday, we all slept in a little bit. Then we did some work around the house and waiting for my mom to call us. She was going to San Marcos to take all the bags of clothes to GoodWill, so we were waiting for her to get home before heading back to Wimberley for the rest of the bunk bed. We finally got on the road around 4, got the bed taken apart and got back about 7. JR watched the Texans game while I worked on organizing some of our new stuff!
Sunday we decided to go grocery shopping as a family, I grabbed my SD card from my camera and asked JR if we could go by Target so I could get my images put on a CD. I haven't done it since June, so I had a lot of photos from the summer that I wanted to get posted. JR asked how much the CD's were. I told him they were 3.99 per cd, and that 75 images were put on each CD. He asked if I would wait until we bought a new computer, I said - sure, as long as we buy the computer today! LOL It was a joke, but he said okay, so instead of going to HEB we went into town and bought a new laptop. Now, Logan has his own computer and JR and I share the new one. The greatest part is that I no longer have to wait until I can get to Target to upload pictures, and now I don't have to listen to JR and Logan fight over the computer AND this computer isn't missing any keys! LOL After getting the computer we went to buy groceries! WHEW! After getting home and putting everything away and getting the new computer set up, we laid out Logan's first day of school clothes, watched Toy Story 3 and went to bed!
MONDAY - FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Logan was excited to wake up! He got up, ate breakfast, and daddy got him dressed. He was so excited to go to school! I finally dragged Landry out of bed and got her dressed, but I couldn't help giggling at how excited Logey Bear was! He was talking a mile a minute. I found a couple of cute idea's on pinterest, and I kind of threw it together at the last minute, but one of the ideas was to write down what your kid wants to be when they grow up on their first day of school each year. Another was to take their picture one the first and last day of school wearing the same outfit to see how much they have grown and changed in the course of the year.
JR had taken a few hours off Monday morning so that he could come with us to take Logan to school. We all walked to his classroom and said goodbye. I was actually pretty calm about the whole thing, probably because I knew how excited he was. Landry on the other hand, did NOT want to leave. She was NOT a happy camper. She screamed the whole way out of the building. Ughh.
We decided to let Logan try the school lunches, at least for a few times to see if he liked it. We are lucky that his school actually provides pretty healthy choices for their lunches. I gave his money to the teacher when we first dropped him off, but last night I got an automated phone call from the district saying Logan's lunch account was negative $2.10...I am hoping it is just because it was the first day of school, and maybe they haven't gotten all their filing done. I guess if I get a call tonight, I will have to write the teacher a note. Also, I don't really know how much of his lunch he ate because when he got home, the first thing he did was ask for some cereal...and ate 2 bowls! I tried asking what he did at school, but all he said was that they played outside and had lunch. he said he colored a picture, and they sat on colored squares (I am guessing this was probably for story time). He looked so tired getting into the truck when I picked him up, I thought for sure he would fall asleep as soon as we got home. Somehow he managed to stay awake until 4 and I let him sleep until 5, but I was soooooo scared that he wouldn't go to sleep at night. It took me 30 minutes to wake him up, I made him walk upstairs so I could show him his new bunk bed that I spent the day putting together...I thought he would be excited, instead he laid on the floor and fell back asleep. He finally got up and went to my room and covered himself with the blanket. I was doing some laundry and talking to him the whole time trying to get him to wake up...he asked, "Why are you being so weird?" Okay, now I admit I laughed, because Logan has never used the word weird before. Then he told me to go away and stop being weird. I guess he learned this at school...there is no telling, but it was kind of funny. He ended up going to bed at 9:30...in his own room, in his new bed! I guess he was excited after all! LOL
Waking Logan up this morning was MUCH harder than it was yesterday. I started at 6:40...he didn't actually get out of bed until 7. He didn't want to eat breakfast, he didn't want chocolate milk, which I had already made..so I stupidly drank it, and almost had a big accident in the truck...whew, barely made it home in time (if you are confused, my stomach does NOT react kindly to milk). He finally ended up drinking another cup of milk that I had to make for him, but man, he was a grouch all morning. He told JR and I that he didn't want to go back to school because it was too long! HA. Hopefully today I can keep him from taking a nap, and maybe get him to sleep at 8:30. Maybe then he will wake up in a better mood! Who knows! Speaking of Chocolate milk, at dinner last night, Logan told JR that he got a chocolate milk at lunch yesterday, but he wasn't able to drink it because he couldn't open it and had to throw it away. He said he asked one of the lunch room monitors to help but she didn't hear him. Hmmm...not thrilled about this. They have a rule, that after you go through the line and sit down, you aren't allowed to get up. If you need something, you have to ask the lunch room monitor...so I told Logan that today when he gets to lunch, after he sits at his table he needs to raise his hand and keep it in the air until one of the lunch teachers comes to help him, and then ask to open his milk. I reminded him this morning when I dropped him off, and told him to watch the teacher do it so that he could learn to do it himself! Geez! I hope it goes better today, if not, I guess that will be another note to make to the teacher...Gawd, I hope I don't turn into one of those moms!
