Weekend Adventure

We had a very busy weekend! On Saturday, Logan had a baseball game at 10:45. He was supposed to have pictures afterward, but I skipped them due to his first melt down of the season. With 15 minutes left in the game he decided he was through. JR had to get back to work and I was not interested in trying to stick it out. I tried to talk him into playing but he would't have it, so I said screw it and we left. My friend Dana, her boyfriend Edgar, and his daughter Katie had all come to the game, so we came back to my house to get my kids changed before we headed into Austin. Our first stop was Steak N Shake...I seriously love that place, but the service is 80% of the time terrible. I know that if I want to go, I need to plan on staying for 2 hours! The food is so worth it though. After lunch we loaded up to go to Eyore's 49th Annual Birthday Party in Austin. I am really glad that I prepared myself for what may be there and I was totally right. There were tree hugging hippies everywhere... There was a kid area, and playground areas for the kids, but there were so many hippie children playing I was really scared that one of my kids was going to get kidnapped. Luckily Edgar and Dana were huge helps! If Logan was with Edgar, Katie was with Dana, and I was with Landry...IF Katie was with Edgar, then Dana kept an eye on Logan...Landry is kind of all about me so it was really great to have 3 adults to 3 kids. Of course, where ever Logan went, Katie was usually right behing him. Landry was content going down ONE slide and staying in ONE area. I always think its funny that when we have kids that are Landry's age come over...they usually spend their time with Logan instead of Landry. Oh well...it's just funny to me because I worry so much about Logan fitting in but younger kids seem to love him! HA! Anyway, there were lots of boobies at the birthday party, as well as a few packages (one that I found particularly interesting by the way!) the boobs, were either painted, or the nipples were covered by a pasty...the packages were all wrapped well, although there was one, I wish wasn't wrapped as well....let's just say he had a whopper, and I would have liked to see a little more detail. LOL They had unicylce football which we got to watch a little bit of...it was awesome, if it wasn't so hot and the kids weren't crazy for ice cream we might have watched a little longer. I would definitely like to go watch a game. The whole thing was really neat. Yeah it had some crazy parts, but it really was pretty awesome. JR asked why I took the kids to something like that....I figure, if they are going to grow up outside of Austin they better get used to it. Austin is WIERD... in fact they live by the motto of "Keep Austin WIERD". I would rather they not wear the fair costumes or put pasties on their nipples, but I want them to understand that everyone is different, and being different is okay. It is what it is. Going to any type of festival in Austin is like a throw back to Woodstock..but its fun! On Sunday, we slept in a little bit. I was so tired. Dana, Edgar, and Katie all came over and the kids played in the sprinkler...my pool key is still not working...I am going to try to get it fixed TODAY, I am getting really ticked about the darn thing. Later on we went to dinner...I guess we didn't do all that much, but Dana, Edgar, and Katie had gone to the Buda Fair and Weiner Dog races earlier in the day, so we were all a little worn out. It was really great to hang out with them. It was a really great weekend overall!

Can you explain to me to correlation between Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh and a bunch of hippies wearing pasties? This is so confusing.

Hahah...there is no correlation. It's just Austin. They will use any excuse to meet in masses and be weird..like I said, it's their motto - their way of life.

It really was fun...just different. The kid time was from 12-4 and we didn't get there until 3:45...I'm not sure it would have been much different during the kid time, It's really just something that is pretty normal for Austin! LOL
