The Run Around
So today has been busy so far and its only 2:00....Logan and I got up about 8:30 this morning, I worked and then got the two of us ready for my appointment at the Tremont House (for the wedding). Right as we are about to leave, there was a giant down pour I was trying to get the car loaded and Dexter (my dog) ran out, got soaking wet, as I was trying to put him back in the house Logan (my son) got out, he belly flopped on the porch and soaked his shirt that I had just put on not even 10 minutes before. Anyway I finally got Logan buckled in the car, Dexter in the house, and me in the car then realized that while I was running around with the boys, I forgot the diaper bag in the house, I had to run back in and get it...so Finally we are loaded up and ready to head to Galveston! We get to galveston, do the Tremont Tour...first thing I realize...there are many steps with no handicap inclines...I realize this because I have Logan in the stroller...#1 problem. My grandparents dont do well with stairs..so this is a large problem. The second problem is that it is too expensive...$10,000 dollar minimum for food and beverage only...it doesn't include anything except food and bev. any additional things cost extra....think about that, $40 a plate for 150 people is only $6,000 which means $4000 has to be in beverages....understandably not too hard to do...but my god $10,000 for 150 people just to eat and drink...another 1000 for the dress..then the decorations, floral arangements, bouqets and bouteneires (I know I spelled that wrong), photographer, minister, D.J., and god knows what else, I am looking at over 15,000 dollars....I think not! So afterwards, Logan and I went to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, which I think is gorgeous, and JR is catholic and he really likes it too, anyway, I found out that as long as one of us is Catholic (check) then we can get married there. JR and I will have to meet with his original parish and confirm that nerither of us has been married before (check) and he will have to get his documentation stating that he truly is catholic and then we will have to enroll into a marriage class. The church charges $1000 for ceremonies held there...which isn't too bad, unless JR transfers to the church and we become active members in the church for at least a year. Also we will still have to find a priest from JR's parish to do the ceremony, but when only one person is catholic they perform a christian ceremony instead of the traditional catholic one (check)! So I think we have a place for the ceremony, now we just need a reception destination which brings me to the second half of my day! I am now home, I have eaten lunch, and now I am blogging. At 3:00 I have another appointment in GALVESTON, at the roof garden. So, Logan and I will be heading there in about 30 minutes, then I have to be at Bally's on Nasa Parkway at 4:00 for my workout! Whew! Then I get to come home rest for a whole 30 minutes before I start making dinner...which by the way I overcooked last nights dinner but oh well it was still edible. I have reached my goal of losing 2 pounds per week! YEA! Anyway, another day in the life of me!
