This weekend.....was very very LONG! Ha! Saturday was pretty much a laundry day. I did a bunch of laundry, worked on the baby blanket, gave both Dexter and Dezi Lu a bath (the dogs), cleaned their kennel, washed the pad that they sleep on (twice!)...Dexter and Dezi both got double doses of being shampooed. Let me just say that they looked so beautiful when they were all done. I had decided to try to let them stay indoors a little more but was quickly reminded as to why we put them out in the first place. On Sunday, we got up very early, drove to Houston and went to the Texans training camp. It wasn't too terribly hot at first, but then the humidity set in and I just felt sticky all over. Logan got 4 cheerleaders to sign an autographed cheerleading team photo, He got a picture with Toro (the bull mascot for the Texans), Then right as he and I got in line to get the football autographed he fell asleep. So there I was 7 months pregnant, holding my 34 pound little boy and a football...after about 45 minutes, a guy in front of me asked if he could hold the ball to help me out....at that point I would have let him hold my baby I was so tired! My legs were shaking, my arms were burning, I was sweating profusely and was desperately trying to figure out how to sit down on the concrete. Finally I tried to wake Logan up and put him down, but he was so sleepy and basically just slithered down to the ground so I had to pick him back up. As more time went on, I started to go past tired to angry! Finally, the players came ut and sat down, and behold!!!! Logan woke up! We walked through the line to get the team ball signed, and all I could think about was getting that last signature, finding JR and going straight to the car...but then...I was stopped by the Houston Chronicle news people, I was interviewed and finally I was free.
Now for those of you wondering...Where was JR and why wasn't he holding Logan??? Well, I asked myself this too many times during the hour and 20 minutes that I spent holding Logan. JR had gone over to another line trying to get some player autographs and while he was over there the people put up baracades....everyone that was on one side of the gate was stuck there until every last player was off the field and on their way to the locker room...So JR and I were on opposite sides and he couldn't get to me. I quickly realized this when I tried to find my way out after being interviewed. Luckily, Logan was awake by that point so I was no longer holding him and it only took about 10 minutes before they opened up the gate and let people cross. JR was waiting for us, so I was glad I didn't have to go all over to search for him.
Because of Sunday....I spent the rest of the day in bed....I had lots of contractions that were far from pleasant and I did a lot of sleeping. I had to use lots of Icy Hot and the heating pad, and as for waking up this morning....I am sore all over, especially my arms and back, and I am very tired. Anyway, although it was a long day, it was actually a good one! We all had a relatively good time. By the way this marks the second year in a row in which I went to training camp and ended up on the internet!
