Oh man - We went to Happy hour on Friday night...It was so nice. We just hung out....and let me just say the place that we went was SOOOO AUSTIN! LOL I can't really explain that statement, You kind of have to spend a good amount of time in or around Austin to get it. I had a really good time, and was so thankful to my sister for watching the kids.
Saturday we were on the road about 9:00...about an hour later than we wanted, but oh well. The trip started off well, the first hour was great, the second hour started to go downhill, the third hour was like the kids were taking turns screaming without a break in between. Then we got to Katy and all hell broke loose. Logan started acting really strange and all of a sudden started yelling, "Mommy, I need help, I need help!!!" This was followed by him twisting into a very awkward position is his seat...I am trying to figure out what happened, he is crying, I am yelling at JR to pull over, Landry is now screaming bloody murder, JR is frustrated telling me to get the kids quiet so he can focus. He finally exits and pulls over I get out and run around the car which is where I find out that Logan has diarhea and it is EVERYWHERE. I put a diaper on him after cleaning everything up, but about every 15 minutes he is crying saying he needs a new diaper. So there we are, pulling over just about every 20 minutes in downtown Houston!!! Then we get to Wal-mart, it was horrible. We finally get to the birthday party and I am constantly changing Logan, I gave him some medicine, but it was just BAD. He was still acting fine, still playing and having a grand ole time...but then there was the poo. Geez. He finally started having solid poops and it just disappeared later that evening...so I dont know what the deal was.
The party was AWESOME!!! They had the same 16 foot slide that they had last year, only this year, I felt comfortable allowing Logan to participate. Plus, I joined in too! It was a blast. Then I woke up the next day and felt like I had been in a car accident. I have some serious whip lash...My entire neck is in so much pain. My abs feel as though I did about 100,000 sit ups in an hour! My neck is still in some pain, but I have to say that it was well worth all the fun we had!
We drove home on Sunday, and it was a much better trip...but I wish they would have just slept the whole way, LOL!
Let's just say, I am in no way shape or form looking forward to another road trip!!

Wow. That figures, huh? Kids get sick as soon as you get ready to something that is ALREADY stressful.
So was the bar weird? You know, the whole "Keep Austin Weird" thing...
The bar was weird, but also very cool! LOL It was basically in a neighboorhood, and it was a house. You can look at it at lustrepearlaustin.com It was so redneck, and yet there were some pretty upscale people in there. It reminded me kind of an old saloon...all that was missing were the horses! LOL It was neat...just very different from any other bar I've ever been to.
