Today, my grandfather would have been 76 years old! I can't believe he has bee gone a over a year now. I thought that today might bring me tears, but instead I am filled with some of the most wonderful memories and I thank God for the time I had with him. I love you, Papa!
August 7, my memaw, my dad's mom, turned 75 - I can't believe all of my grandparent are in their mid 70's. I have both of my grandmothers still with me - My nanny will be 76 in January.
Yesterday was my older sister's 29th birthday....I seriously can not believe that next year she will be 30...No friggin way! I may not always get along with her or agree with the decisions she makes, but I love her and was happy to get to spend a little bit of time with her.
On Saturday we will head for Houston for Davin's 4th B-day party! These little boys are growing up so quickly! Geesh! I am so excited to see him and the rest of the family! I asked my sister-in-law for ideas on what to get him...I was told "an ipod, dsi, wii games, astros and texans gear" there was something else but I cant remember...My response was, "he's 4" I was like...well I guess I will find some astros or texans gear! Holy cow a wii game alone is $50 - the ipod and dsi are well above that...and not that I am trying to sound cheap...but I AM!!! I was thinking $20 range....I dont even spend $50 on just one toy for my kids...I might spend $50 but they are getting 5 or 6 toys out of it! LOL
Logan slept in his own room - ALL NIGHT last night! Now, that's a reason to celebrate. I couldn't sleep and didn't put away my book until 2:30...knowing that today would be hell...but the kids slept until 8:30. I couldn't believe it!!!
Anyway...happy hump day!

Wow, really?! That's a lot of electronics for such a young boy! How is he supposed to learn to play with his imagination if he has electronics doing it for him all the time? I plan on waiting until Aiden ASKS for such things before I get it for him. He'll spend the rest of his life wanting these things, so why push it on him early?
Yes, it was! He ended up with several Wii games, including Mario cart and after it was opened I barely even saw the kids again unless I was popping in to check on them! LOL
I feel the same way. We have a Wii, but we only have like 2 or 3 games, and one is mine, and one is JR's- so Logan can only play with one. He only plays it every so often, he is more content playing a game on the computer though. I only let him play for 20 - 30 minutes though and the first half has to be educational (haha, I am so mean) colors, shapes, letters, counting...etc.
