A few days in...

Okay, we are 3 days in to Logan sleeping in his own room...whew! Last night was ROUGH! ***SPOILER ALERT*** Yes, I cheated again. Logan went to his room with his computer. He refused to watch a movie...he wanted to play a game! Ughhh, he can be so frustrating. So being the genius that I am, I talked him into playing Handy Manny...I went to his page and picked the Story book...hahaha! So I turned up the volume and let the computer read Logan a Handy Manny story. JR and I went to bed...well JR went to bed, and I lay there reading. I can hear Logan talking...he gets louder and LOUDER. That went on for a while, until he was REALLY loud. I went to his room and told him he had to be quiet and go to sleep, or I would take away the computer. I went back to bed to read again. At 11:00 my eyes were getting heavy so I went to check on him. HE was still awake. Ughhh. So I told him I was going to put on a movie....no more games, it was night night time. He threw a fit. I closed the computer, and told him either he watches a movie or no computer at all...he continued yelling. I laid down with him until he calmed down. Went back to my room. At 11:45 he came and said he wanted the movie. Geez, so I went to his room and put on Wall-E. At 12:15 he said he wanted to sleep with mommy. So, back to his room I went. I laid there for 15 minutes and I could no longer keep my eyes open so I told him goodnight and went back to my room...he was still awake when I left! at 12:45 he crawled in bed with us, waking me up. I promptly got up and carried him to his room. He cried and cried, breaking my heart by saying I want to sleep with you mommy...mommy, I sorry. I loves you mommy.....OH dear GOD! This went on until 2:15. I would put hime in his bed, and walk away...not saying anything to him. He would pretty much just follow me back to my room and get in bed...I dont think I even sat down but maybe twice. Just back and forth back and forth. At 2:15 I heard Landry stirring around, and I didn't want Logan's crying to wake her up, and I most certainly didn't want to have two kids on my hands at that time. So I let Logan get in bed with us. I laid down and listened. I wanted to make sure Landry was completely back asleep. It took about 10 minutes...and as soon as I thought I was going to drift off to sleep I stood up, picked up a sleeping Logan and took him to his room! He remained there until 6:30 this morning...once again, I let him stay. I am PRAYING that JR might have tomorrow off, and let him go through this process tonight so that I might get some sleep!!!! Maybe...Hopefully!
We are just beginning day 2 into the sippy cup with Landry. In my opinion, we have already made huge progress, and yet I dont want to get ahead of myself. LOL Yesterday I gave her some Juice water...I filled it to about 3/4 full, and I just gave it to her throughout the day. When she finished a meal, or an hour after a bottle...just whenever, she ended up drinking over half of it!!! So I put another 3/4 juice water in her vup today, and already she has begun drinking it!!! I plan to keep her on the juice water for an entire week. I want her to get used to it and next friday I will start putting formula in the sippy cup. She will still get her morning and evening bottles...and in all honesty I may ween her slowly. I think I might just take one bottle away every 3-4 days and let her keep the night time bottle until about a week before her 1st birthday. One thing is certain tough...the day she turns 1 will be the day she no longer has a bottle. I waited too long to take the bottle away from Logan, and I would rather not go through that torture again! LOL
ON a downward note, I just realized while writing this blog, that altough I have done SO MANY things differently with Landry than I did with Logan(The experiment), I may forsee a potential disaster....Okay, that is being a little dramatic...but here is the problem. It took FOREVER to get Landry to even take a bottle. The girl was over 7 months old! She will be 10 months in a few short days...but as you can see - she hasn't been on the bottle long, but I digress. THe problem is that she hasn't once taken the bottle while sitting up. I always lay her on the boppy so that she is at least proped up. While she has only had the sippy cup consistantly for two days, I am doing the same thing. She can hold her own bottle and all that, but not sitting up. She should probably start learning that soon..being able to sit, hold up a cup or bottle and tilt her head back...right? Am I delaying her muscle development by letting her do it the easy way? Oh gosh, if there is one thing I have learned about parenting, it's this....What is easy now, only leads to being harder, later...in other words...EASY doesn't equal CORRECT!! Well, I will start working on her holding a bottle and sitting up TODAY!
Now I have a massive migraine coming on from a lack of sleep...so I am going to eat, take some medicine, and rest, before I become debilitated!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

I don't think Aiden WANTED to drink his bottle sitting up until just recently. He always at least leaned back in a seat. But never completely upright until the past month or so. He'll drink his sippy sitting up though.

It's great that Landry went from prettu much refusing the bottle to using the sippy cup so quickly. That's great!
