Saturday we went to our final studio appointment. It went by much quicker and easier than the first one. For one, I knew what I was getting in to. Another thing was that JR and I had an entire week to go over exactly what we wanted and what we could live without. I made sure to look at the brick, siding, and trim colors - and I was glad we did. JR and I both agreed that the trim was a little too dark. Je tends to leans towards grey and I lean towards brown...but, how can I really trust JR when we can't tell the difference between blue and purple? LOL We both agreed on the colors we chose, so hopefully it turns out well. It's so hard to imagine what it will look like as a whole, because you only get to look at samples. I really wish they used a computer program that gave you a visual of the over all product!
Another major difference is that the blue prints we have been looking at since we started the process has the garage on the left and the front door entry to the right of the garage, however, JR and I wanted the garage on the right side - so they had to basically mirror the blue prints. The only problem is that I have gotten so used to looking at it one way, that now it looks so wierd to look at it the way it is going to be built! Oh well. I keep going back to look at it, and imagining it in my mind's eye so that I can get used to it again! LOL
Sunday was a lazy day. We did nothing but watch football and read and nap.
Construction on the house is supposed to start tomorrow. Can you believe it??? I can't! I am going to try to drive by today and take a picture of the lot, and I am hoping to take a daily picture...I got the idea from a youtube video of a pregnant woman who took a photo everyday of her 9 months of pregnancy then made a video of the photos on fast foward. It was pretty cool, so I thought I would do something like that with the house. Now, I am going to warn you that I will periodically be posting a few pictures of the progess on the house, but I wont bore you with posting the daily pictures...I will wait until the end to show the whole thing. While JR and I are very excited, we know that not everyone wants to look at house building pictures on a daily basis. In fact we have a friend on facebook who was building a house and everyday she put up 10-20 new photos of the progress on her house. JR and I were so annoyed with her, so we wont be doing THAT - however we can't contain ALL of the excitement and will most likely post pictures once a week or so, hopefully no more than that - I dont want to be "that girl." LOL
So, here we go! Our first home!
