a day with animals

Logan's school had a fun farm today. The kids were hilarious. Logan LOVED the animals. He was so kind and gentle, I wonder if that is just his way, or if having a little sister has made him realize the importance of being gentle. I have a big sister, who has NEVER been gentle - so I dont think all older siblings can be put in a category of gentleness...who knows. He reminds me so much of myself as a kid. I was always the sweet one, I loved all animals - there wasn't an animal I came across that I didn't try to bring home.

Landry on the other hand was scared to death. She wanted me to hold her. Everytime I tried to get her to pet something she would shake and say no,no,no... I kept trying a few minutes and after about 10 minutes she started petting the animals as long as I was holding on to her. More time passed and she asked to get down. She would hold her hand out like she was going to pet something and then squeal and run to me. Another five minutes and she was petting them without me, and five minutes after that she was chasing the animals. With her fear out of the way, she decided she could hold the animals...poor things never knew what hit them! I kept chasing her saving the poor bunnies and chicks she tried to pick up...by their neck - in a choke hold! LOL

All in all, it was a great day. All the kids had a blast. I took too many photos - which are all on facebook, but here are a few.
