Date night and recovery
JR and I went out to Texas Land & Cattle for dinner last night...it's sort of becoming tradition as we ate there last year on our anniversary as well! We both pretty much stayed on our diet, except I had bacon wrapped sirloin and it was AMAZING. We also had a glass of wine which was REALLY good. Afterwards - I had dessert! LOL I decided to go with cheesecake because they are usually smaller slices than the chocolate cake - but this thing was HUGE. I ate about half of it and brought the rest home to give to my parents...who wouldn't take it - so now its in my refrigerator calling to me! haha. After dinner we went to a place called the "Stardust" It's just a little dive bar that we have been to a few times. We met up with a few friends, and had a few drinks and headed home. It was great to be home by 10...I say that now, but last night I was really wishing we could stay out! LOL That was the rum talking. This morning, I am thankful that we needed to relieve my parents at 10...otherwise I would be over the toilet right now. Seriously, when you go without drinking for a little while, your tolerance isn't what it used to be. I should have learned my lesson with pregnancy but there is something about being at a bar where you automatically revert back to college days and you think you can drink more than you really can. I had a glass of wine with dinner and 2 rum and cokes at the bar...and well, it was enough to do the trick! It was really great to catch up with some friends and it was truly the perfect night. Both kids were asleep when we got home and my parents said that they were angels. I had told my parents before I left that if Logan got into a mood he could get on the computer so they wouldn't have to deal with him...but mom said he played with Papaw pretty much until he passed out at 8:30 and Landry went down without a problem as well. She never has a problem going down for us, but the last time my parents watched her she wouldn't sleep - of course that was about 5 months ago and she was at their house in the travel crib..which she HATES - so I was a little worried that she might have a problem with my parents putting her down....but NOPE - she was great. I was so happy to hear my parents say how wonderful they were and how Logan used his manners always saying yes SIR and MA'AM. Usually I get "the look" from my mom about Logan and his behavior - so it really was perfect. It's so funny, because I can't tell what my mom thinks of my parenting...half the time she is telling me I am too strict, the other half she is telling me that I need to get him under control and I am a push over! LOL You gotta love my mom! It was a special surprise that my dad came with my mom to babysit...mom said that she even got my dad to turn off the basketball games and they watch the movie "Grown Ups" - so even though they had the kids, they kind of got a mini movie date night - Haha! I like seeing my parents do stuff together, even if the thing they are doing is babysitting - or just watching a movie together. It really is rare to see them together, so it's heart warming when it happens!
