Okay moms...I need suggestions -
Landry has been taking two naps a day and I love it. Her naps are never more than 1.5 hours so I get to play with her plenty during the day and I get a small break twice a day to get some things day. Her 1st nap is about 1.5 hours and the second is usually about an hour. I have been getting the "how many naps does she take" question a lot lately, and I always say that I am not ready for her to give up that second nap just yet...now I dont know if its really up to me! LOL
On Monday, I thought - here we are - she is ready to go down to one nap. She fell asleep around 11:45 and slept until 3:00 - 3 hours and 15 min....Holy Cow...so I was really nervous about what time to put her to bed. One thing I did with Logan was I did things based on his need for something. If he was sleepy - I put him to sleep. I only fed him if he showeed me he was hungry...I never did things on a timed schedule. This led to him staying up all night - NOT FUN. So with Landry, I put her on a schedule. I still fed her only when she was hungry, but it just happened to fall into a rythym that went with her sleep schedule. Anyway, I put her to bed at 8:00 on Monday even though her bedtime is usually 8:30. But she was so cranky and acting sleepy, so I put her down. All was well...in fact she slept in a little - all the way to 8:00 am.
Yesterday (Tuesday) - She was acting tired, so I put her down at 11:30 (normal nap time). She was awake at 12:45...so I thought, well, maybe she isn't ready to go to one nap a day. I put her down at 4:00 (normal nap 2 time) she slept until 4:55. She went to bed at her normal bedtime at 8:30 and slept until 7:45 this morning.
Today - she was so cranky at about 10:45 - screaming her lungs out in the car, then all through HEB, and finally at 11:30 I picked her up and carried her through the store while I shopped. She was out in about 30 seconds...which is CRAZY - because she never falls asleep in my arms...She ONLY sleeps in her crib and in the carseat. She slept the rest of the way through the store, then in her carseat on the way home, and then I put her in her crib when we arrived home. It is now 2:25 and she is still sleeping!!!!
So is she trying to get rid of her second nap?? Is this some kind of growth spurt thing??? I AM SO CONFUSED! What is going on???
The other confusion happening in my house is LOGAN - My poor kid has toy ADD. He got so much for his birthday that he has no idea what to do with himself. He starts off playing with one toy and then gets sidetracked when he passes another toy and starts playing with that. He was playing with his "monster truck mater with the remote control" (sorry but you have to say the whole thing! LOL) and saw his lite brite, so we made some fireworks...except we got half way there before the play-doh caught his attention, so he abandoned me for the play-doh...of course with my OCD - I had to finish the fireworks! LOL So now he has been playing with the play-doh for about 45 minutes (its a record). Although we did play with it last night for over an hour - so thanks Nikki...the play-doh is a big hit! One thing I have learned however, is he takes after his mom in this department - no creativity what-so-ever! LOL I think we have made 949 snakes so far and that is all...unless you count the cutouts! And AGAIN...my OCD is nuts because I dont want the colors to mix - even though I KNOW that it wont matter to him if the do! LOL
AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! KIDS
