This weekend was both work and play! The sad part was that we did the playing on Friday night and had to work the rest of the weekend. Since moving down here we have made several new friends, to go along with the few people we already knew in the area. One of those new people are Brad and Denniele Reynolds. Denniele is Desmonds sister, which is how we were introduced. They have 3 little boys 4, 3, and 1...So Logan loves playing with them! Denniele and I hit it off from the start. Her husband Brad is such a great guy, I dont see how anyone could not like him....and his love for football, baseball, fishing, and golf made it very easy for JR and him to connect! Anyway, on Friday night they had us and Keith and a girl friend of his over for steaks. We got there a little after 8 and stayed until 2. Keith had left around midnight so it was nice to get one on one time with them and really get to know them. They are so good with their kids, I felt like writing some stuff down! LOL THey seriously have the most well behaved kids I have EVER seen. They were both in the Navy and I wonder if that has anything to do with the way they discipline. Who knows...whatever it is, IT WORKED! JR and I had such a good time, and I guess Brad and Denniele enjoyed having us, because at 2 when we got ready to leave, they were like Noooooooo! hahahaha. They just got out of the military a little less than a year ago and moved to the area at the same time we did...in fact - I looked at the house they are living in when I was looking for a place to live...how funny is that?
JR had to work on Saturday so I did some house cleaning...I have been vacuuming every day because the june bugs are so bad that some of them fly in the house and die, and I am scared that Landry will put one in her mouth while crawling around on the floor! YUCK. When JR got home we both relaxed for a bit just to muster up the energy to go to the grocery store...we did it, and got home and went straight to bed (after putting away groceries, of course).
Sunday, JR had to work again, which is really irritating because he is supposed to only work every OTHER weekend and this was not his weekend to work...that would be this coming up weekend....He for sure has Father's Day weekend off, but just found out that he may have to work July 4th weekend...we are NOT happy about this. We already made plans to be out of town that weekend, so I will not be a happy person if he has to work...hopefully we will know more soon! Anyway, when JR got home he cooked some ribs out on the grill and after dinner, he decided to mow the front yard....it got dark while he was mowing and about half way through, my internet went out....He ran over the live with the mower servering it in half...NOT good! In his defense, the line is SUPPOSED to be buried, but they are building the house next door and for some reason they dug up the line and left it laying there...ummmmm...couldn't they have flagged it or something. Especially since it is right on the edge of the propety line, so when we mow there is this space about two feet wide that runs along the entire length of the property of 4 ft. weeds....I hate it, so when I mow I usually just mow it down so it doesn't look so aweful....you literally have to mow every weekend here though because of how fast the grass grows...it is unreal! Anyway, I am calling the internet people to come out and fix the problem and I am also calling the HOA...I am TIRED of trash being thrown in our yard by the people building that house, not to mention them parking in front of my house and blocking my driveway so if I go anywhere when I get back I have to wait for someone to come move their vehicle....and now digging up a cable line and leaving it unmarked....PISSED! On another note, I found out yesterday that my cousin and his wife will be moving to the area, maybe even down the street from us in about 3 weeks! Yay! I am so excited to have more people we know living in the area!
