Amazing River
I hate when you decide to do something or go somewhere and it seems to take forever. We decided to go to the river yesterday but had to wait for my sister to get out of school (2:55). JR took a half day off so it was really nice for him to be able to go with us. Randi got to the house about 3:25...I don't really understand what the deal was but we left at 3:45 and didn't get in the water until 5:00. Randi had to stop at the bank, then she had to go bay a bill, then we had to drop off her car where we got off the river - then she hopped in the car with us and drove over to the entrance where we had to blow up the tubes. Thank heavens we bought an air pump! We finally got in and had a GREAT time. Landry did amazing...I bought her a new tube and I figured out that she has to sit with me until she gets adjusted to the temperature of the water..then she can be moved to her own tube! Logan also got a new tube...he was much happier in the new one! We were on the river for about 2 1/2 hours...we tied off under a bridge for a little while and we took every alternate route we could to make the float as long as possible! When we got out, I stayed with the kids so that JR and Randi could go down the rapids. When they got back, JR and I went down, and then Randi and I went down. I am pretty sure that I broke my left pinky toe going down the rapids the first time....but I didn't care - they are so much freaking fun that I went down the second time...It is killing me today, but all I can think about is when I will get to go down those rapids again! LOL We got off the river and went to Wienerschnitzel....mmmmmm - yummy! I also cant stop thinking about those hot dogs!

When one of you ties off so the others can go down rapids, how do you get back to your kids? LOL! This whole tubing with your kids thing has my mind boggled!
Nikki, you crack me up! I think I am going to buy a waterproof camera to take pictures to better explain this - I would love to get a waterproof video camera - that would make it very easy!
We tied off our tubes at the exit. there are stairs where ou get out so we stacked the tubes and tied them to the stair rail so that it would be easier to keep an eye on them and harder for someone else to steal them!!! The kids and everyone got out of the water. Going down the rapids takes about 3 minutes - maybe 4. You get in, go down, and get right back out, it isn't far. Takes about 45 seconds to get out and walk back to where the kids are.
Oh, I see! I miss the river. =/
