happenings

Last night we went to dinner with my family for my mom's 48th birthday. It went fairly well...except for the fact that my sister is so embarrassing. As the waitress came up to take our order, Randi complained LOUDLY that there menu was never the same...always changing, and she was just going to take her menu home with her and bring it everytime she came back. We were at Chili's by the way. Randi went on and on and on...finally, I couldn't take it anymore, I told her to calm down and not talk so loud. I did this in the nicest way possible...but you could tell that everyone at the table was uncomfortable, and the poor waitress...I felt so bad for her. The other thing that drives me crazy is her respnse was, "Wool, they shouldn't change the menu so much...I hate this place!" Now when I put "wool" it was not a typo...she literally says the word "well" as "wool"....It drives me flippin nuts...but ok, I am not going to spend the whole blog complaining about Randi. It was really nice to see my mom and dad. They were introduced to Landry's walking skills. Their eyes lit up, which was really nice to see. Landry was such an angel at dinner...she was passed all around the table, but she spent the majority of her time in the high chair eating...she also spent a big chunk of time sitting with Isabella. Isabella plays like she is Landry's mom....its really funny and she is so gentle and sweet with her. As soon as Logan go his corn dog , Landry reached over and took a french fry off his plate...I thought - CRAP! here comes the meltdown...but instead Logan just looked at her, then looked at me, looked back her and said, "your welcome, sissy" I was laughing histerically...it was too much! LOL
Yesterday was also my Nanny's birthday (yup, a mother and daughter with the same birthday!). I was sad that I didn't get to be with her, but I called her and sent some flowers - Lillies...because that is what my Papa would get her every year for her birthday. It made her cry, but she was surprised that anyone noticed that it was the same flower that he got her each year. I told her it took me a while to figure it out, but I noticed about 8 years ago that it was the same type of flowers because her birthday flowers were still alive when she got her valentines flowers so I asked him if he did it on purpose and he told me they were her favorite, so he's been buying the same type of flower for every occasion for nearly 50 years! This story, of course, made my grandmother cry again, but she tell me that she appreciated the fact that I sent them and then told me that one valentines Day when they had been married for 10 years, my Papa bought her 2 dozen roses. He had planned this dinner and a romantic evening. She says she doesn't remember a thing about it except that she was upset that he had given her roses and not the lillies! :) I seriously love how simplistic my nanny is!
There was more I wanted to say....but I have forgotten now...maybe later!
