Post Christmas high

You would think that after Christmas, Logan wouldn't be able to think of a single thing to ask me for. Seriously, he got everything he asked for and then some...however, in the past week here are a few things he has decided he wants...

A puppy
A Wii (funny, since we have one in the closet)
A baby brother
He wants to paint his room green
He wants Isabella and Isaiah to come live with us

Where he comes up with this stuff....I have no idea, sadly he will only get one of the things in the near future!

Christmas, Camera, House

I figure I should blog a bit before it becomes overwhelming.

First, Christmas was FANTASTIC. We decided to just spend Christmas at home. Logan is in total understanding about Santa and I didn't want to explain that Santa can either leave presents at our house for when we get back or he can take them to where we are going. My parents always did that and it never made a lot of sense to me..only because some years, Santa brought our stuff to my Nanny and Papa's house and some years he left the toys at our house....if they would have been consistant it wouldn't have been a big deal. Anyway, not having the stress of family or travelling was really awesome, plus we got to do whatever we wanted...we weren't on a schedule to get there or do this....it was awesome. However now that stress and anxiety is catching up. We are going out of town this weekend to visit JR's grandmother in Houston, then his mom, and my grandmother in Galveston. Hopefully, we can swing by to see his brother and Lisa as well. BUT - of course my whole family is in Galveston right now, and I dont know when they are coming back, but my mom wants us to get together and do dinner. Ughhh. It's Wednesday people. Make some freaking plans. Then I have JR who gets frustrated with me because he doesn't think we should have to bend over backwards to accomodate my mom - which he is right...but still I want to see my mom and dad and sister and my niece and nephew!

I am in the process of researching cameras. This is taking me a while because I started with just the regular point and shoot, and worked my way over to the dSLR which are high end expensive cameras which I can't afford and even if I could they intimidate the heck out of me! So I am looking at some in between. I have narrowed it down to Nikon and Canon which by most reviews say that these are the top two brands...but then I find a Lumix where every comment says that its amazing. GRRR! So, I am about to head out of amazon reviews and check out some professional reviews. Hmmm...At this time my favorite is the Nikon Coolpix L120 which is kind of a hybrid...its is a point and shoot camera, but has dSLR qualities. It is more expensive than what I have ever paid for a camera..but I really like it.

Our builder called yesterday about the problems I mentioned before on the house. The french doors to the bedroom is an easy fix and will be done hopefully this week. The bathroom - he said we could leave it how it is and gain extra closet space or they can fix it...I said FIX IT! Apparently, KB has changed the plans for our model recently and when the main office sent the blue prints they sent the new ones instead of the ones we agreed upon. The builder says it isn't a huge fix and can probably get that squared away this week as well. He said he never even noticed it, and since they are building several models the same as ours he was going to go check each one and contact the buyers to see what they wanted to do! (Good Catch, SARA!) The other problem is the framing and foundation at the edge of the garage...he said he was going to have to go look at it personally and get back to us. So, looks like the issues are being fixed promptly...but then I got to thinking, and I have to go back by today, because I dont know if they have our closets done correctly! LOL...
They delivered the brick yesterday, so they should start on that either tomorrow or next week! Only a month and a half away!

uh oh! Problems

Yesterday I went with JR over to the new house so I could walk around in it. JR has been doing it for several days, but I always feel uncomfortable doing with the workers al around. So the first the JR did was point out that the framin over the garage isn't right. I can't really explain what is wrong with it...something to do with the concrete and how the wood doesn't sit correctly on it. JR says its a major structural problem and they need to fix it now because if they wait, they will either have to cover it up...which of course we wont allow...or they will have to tear down part of the house to fix it. So I vote that they fix it now!

The down stairs seems to be in good order..I am planning to go back today or tomorrow to take a closer look. The only thing is that the washer/dryer room looks extremely small for some reason. Actually, the whole thing seems a little small compared to the finished model home. I am thiking its one of those optical illusion things.

Once we got upstairs JR pointed out that the framing for our bedroom is wrong...it is framed for a single door, and we upgraded to having double french doors to the master bedroom. This shouldn't be difficult to fix at all...at least I don't think so.

As we continued to walk around something seemed off to me. I couldn't figure it out, so I did some mental memory images in my head...next time - I am bringing the blue prints with me! Anyway, I finally figured out that our Master bathroom is all wrong. The shower is facing the wrong way and their isn't a divider wall for it. They left out the linen closet, which just enlarges our closet...and I dont have a big problem with getting a bigger closet -LOL I can always put some shelves in there for towels. But the point is- it's wrong...and the shower HAS to be fixed. Right now they have it as the first thing on the left...this is how our bathroom is now, and I dont like it. #1 when you step out of the shower, you are standing directly in the entrance, this means if someone else is showering or has recently showered - when you walk in the floor and the mat is all wet..it drives me crazy! #2 When one person is in the shower and someone else is getting ready people get confused and want to have a conversation..also drives me crazy, because when I am in the shower I want to be left ALONE! Anyway, so this is how the new house is currently set up...however there is supposed to be a wall and the shower on the otherside of the wall. I am sure this doesn't make any sense - one of those you have to see it things...but so far This and the garage framing and foundation are MAJOR issues. I hope they fix it quickly, because it really freaks me out!

Santa comes tomorrow night! woohoo! I am excited to watch the kids open their presents this year. I have their stocking stuffers...unfortunately I didn't get myself or JR anything. So - oh well. I am not too worried about it. I am hoping to get some Christmas cards to save up for a new camera. I think I have found the one I want...we will just have to wait.

A few more funnies...

I am realizing that I have to write these things when they happen or I will forget them...and they are too precious to forget...
The other night JR farted, and Logan says with all seriousness, "Daddy, you need to leave the room to fart!" I died laughing.

The kids were in the bath tonight and Logan says, "sissy, dont touch my weewee." I go into the whole Landry - don't touch your brother's weewee. They continue to play without a problem, when Logan looks at me and says, "Mommy, where's sissy's weewee?" I..uh...hmmm I wasn't prepared for this conversation - so I simply just said Sissy is a girl, and girls don't weewees. He seemed to ponder that for a minute and said, "So, Sissy is a girl. Girl's dont have weewees and I am a boy. Boys have weewees." I said, "Yup that about covers it!" Can't wait to have a more detailed discussion about that! LOL

It is just crazy to see how much they are growing up. Logan says something funny nearly everyday, he is becoming so inquisitive which makes me apprehensive at times but its also so very exciting.

Landry is also talking more and more. Her new favorite saying/game is "Gimme that!" She says it in such a way that is too cute when she is playing a game - and yet, when she is being a brat she squeels the phrase that makes her sound a bit demonic! LOL She and JR play all the time...she brings him a toy and then stands in front of him saying "Gimme that." Until he gives it to her, and then he says it until she gives it back...they do this over and over until they are both laughing!

These little moments are the part that being a mother that just bring my heart to nearly burst. I love them so much!

The house is coming along..

So I told you before that they started the framing on the house...well - it just keeps going so here are some photos of the last few days or week.
Framing of the house

Working on the trim

Starting on the siding

Everything is on schedule...we should be in the house by mid Feb. It is so very exciting! Oh and I reached my goal. I finished my 365th book last night..actually it was at about 12:30 this morning - so I still had 11 days to spare! My goal for 2012 will be 400 books! Let's se if it works out!

Forgetting things - Quoting Logan

I seriously hate when I have something to blog about, I actually get excited to share, but then something happens and I forget what the hell I was going to say.
So - I am going to blab and see what happens.
For several days I have been wanting to share some quotes from Logan...There have been several things lately and I forget to write them down. Ughhh
When I took the kids to the mall Logan was asked what he wanted from Santa. He of course told him he wanted Mario Kart. The guy asked if there was anything else, and Logan said, "Yeah, and I dont want to die." Hahaha. Obviously he meant he didn't want to die on the game, but it was hilarious!
There are some others, but I will have to try to remember them. Sorry
JR and I were talking last night...I was excited because I am through with the Christmas shopping except for the stocking stuffers which I will get at the dollar store and the dollar spot at Target...oh crap, except for 5 8x10 frames. Then I am done! Seriously. Anyway, he thought that I was buying my camera online - when really I was buying Landry's magnet toys. He says that I should save my money and not buy a camera because I will have a good camera on my phone when I upgrade in March. So here's the thing..I like have a separate camera, sure a good camera phone comes in handy - but I have incredibly shaky hands and py bictures usually come out blurry on my ohone - which I understand my camera sucks on my phone...but since its my gift, shouldn't I get what I want. See here's the thing...Last May JR's birthday came and he wanted some $400 golf clubs - which he got even though I didn't agree with spending that kind of money. When MY birthday rolled around the following month - WE decided to not spend $400 but instead save it for our up coming cruise...now- how did he get a $400 gift, and my birthday gift turns out to be something for the both of us 9 months down the road??? Now, here's Christmas and I was going to get him a new laptop, but he says he would rather have a docking station...Again, I think he just sees something that looks cool - when a computer would be a more rational choice...but its his gift - so whatever. But - when it comes to my gift - he says he doesn't agree with me buying a cmera because I will have one one my phone that is just as good, and then had the gall to say I should just save up the money for the cruise. So - let me also tell you that the $400 from my birthday...$100 was used for the deposit on the cruise...the other $300 has been used for the house when we had to pay the earnest money. How is it okay for him to get presents that he wants but my gifts have to be beneficial to both of us? Well, I'm going to tell you - I am buying my freaking camera - the camera I want...not the damn $57 bundle package that JR found online (cheap ass). I am going to put myself first for once. I am buying whatever camera I want...within reason, and JR can be the one to wait around for the damn gift. Seriously! Plus, what am I supposed to do until March while I am waiting on a better camera phone??? Which, by the way - I wont have the money to uprade in March...and I have told him this before - but apparently he thinks we are made of money. Ughhhh...it is so frustrating!

The Road to State

This football season has been amazing. We went undefeated all the way to the state championship. I still can't believe we won. On Friday we left for Dallas at 9, and arrived at 1. The game didn't start until 4, but JR had to sell a cooler and we wanted to make sure we were there with plenty of time. We met up with the guy as soon as we got there and went over to Olive Garden for some drinks before the game. Later we headed to the stadium and let me just say - That place is RIDICULOUS! We got to sit on the 35 yard line, about 15 rows up from the field. Pretty awesome. Although I will say that trying to watch the big screen up above us is a little like watching a movie from the front row of the theater. I had to alternate from watching the screen to watching the action on the field. It was an amazing game. We won 21-14 and became the 2011 State Champs. I was so proud, not just of my dad, but all the coaches and all those kids and stretching it even further to the the community - you wouldn't believe how many people came out to support the team. Of course we didn't fill up Cowboy Stadium, but our side was definitely bursting at the seems. I cried like a baby...well not really, I was just teared up watching my dad get teared up. It was just an amazing moment...one that I can't really describe with words. This was my dad's second state title, his last was in 2005.
After the game, we were able to seem some really old friends of ours. The best was my friend Stephanie Merrell. It's been a few years since I have seen her, but like Dana, she is a girl that I grew up with. She was actually 3 grades above me, but it didn't matter, we always played together growing up....since I was 3 years old, Dana, Stephanie and I grew up together. Stephanie graduated in Iowa Park, and when we moved my junior year, the Merrell's decided to stay in Iowa Park - where they still live...well Coach and Mrs. Merrell. Coach Merrell was actually the one who taught me how to drive. LOL
Stephanie is a teacher at Plano and just finished up her Masters and is hoping to be a principal. After the players finished getting cleaned up they came out to celerate with the fans. When Stephanie went over to tell dad congratulations...he told her he was proud of her and all her hard work and accomplishments. I think this pretty much demonstrates my dad's character. Even though he just won the state title, he gave credit to the players and the rest of the coaches. He stays humble, and he gives credit where its due. I love that man!

I was going to blog yesterday, but I literally slept the entire day. After leaving the game, we grabbed something to eat. I was immediately not feeling well. My throat felt like it was closing in - I don't know if I started getting sick early on Friday and just didn't notice because of all the excitement of the game. I didn't realize it until after the game...and I told JR, but he didn't seem to really care. Hr was really tired and asked me to drive, I din't think I would be able to...but since JR said he couldn't keep his eyes open much longer so I decided to drive home for him. We stopped for gas and I grabbed a red bull...which helped me stay awake for the rest of the trip home. We got home at 1am. Saturday was a lazy day....we drove by the new house to see that the framing is under way!
I was feeling lousy all day. So I went to bed early. Landry ended up waking up at 2:30 and then I couldn't go back to sleep, so I was up until 5:30. I slept until 11:00 in which JR came to wake me up for lunch...I fell back asleep and didn't get up until 1:00. I ate my lunch and stayed up for a little bit, but didn't hold on very long..I was back asleep by 3:00 and woke up again at 6:00 for dinner. I went back to bed at 10...and then JR came and woke me up at 11...which caused a bit of an arguement, because seriously who wakes someone up at 11 at night. He said he didn't realize I was going to sleep for the night...ummmwhat did he think I was going to take a cat nap and get up and party at 2am? Dumb Ass! So then I was pissed and couldn't fall back asleep. I finally fell back asleep at around 1:30. I haven't felt this crappy in a while. However, I think I am on the mend! HOPEFULLY! Only 6 more days until Christmas!!!

Christmas for me

I have so much to talk about...tomorrow I will tell you all about our trip to Cowboy Stadium and our victory and title as the 3AAA - 2 State Football Champions. Today, or tonight - rather this morning seeing as how it is 3am I will tell you another story.
I recently blogged that my camera is broken. This is heart breaking. I wasn't able to take it with me to Dallas to capture some amazing moments, which will have to live in my head as memories...which sucks because I dont remember my own name half the time. This has left me relying on my camera phone which just sucks in general and unfortunately I can't upgrade until March...and seeing how we will be moving in to our new house, going on a cruise, and celebrating our anniversary and Logan's birthday all during that month...I just dont think I can squeeze anything else in there. I have been thinking A LOT about this...JR and I usually dont get each other gifts for Christmas..we used to, but one year was pretty rough on us, and we realized that we didn't miss it...that watching the kids open gifts and light up was a gift itself. This year however, I am thinking we may exchange gifts, because I really need a camera. So, I may get a camera for myself (posing it as a gift from JR), and then I can get JR something - He just has to tell me what he wants. Maybe I can get him a new laptop...which would solve bothof my problems, LOL. This one, would become Logans computer...missing keys, non-working usb ports and all! LOL I guess it really all just depends on money...and if he will willing to wait until Dec. 30 to get his gift??!

Wrapped Up!

Last night I finished wrapping gifts! YAY! As I said yesterday, there are still a few more that I have to get, and then JR reminded me of the Stockings...DAMN! So I am trying to come up with some ideas for stocking stuffers.
For Logan, so far - I have underwear and socks....because he really needs them, some candy, and I am going to try to find a few things from the dollar section at Target.
For Landry, - some hair bows, some candy, dollar section at target, and maybe a barbie, or something small like that
For JR - I HAVE NO IDEA! socks and underwear?? some candy? maybe some cologne?
For Me - socks, bra and panties, candy, and perfume!

All ideas are welcome!

Today is Logan's Christmas party! They are doing a pizza party, and a gift exchange. Each child brought a wrapped book. I think this is a great idea. One, each child get a gift to unwrap, and two, everyone gets a book - so they won't be arguing over who got a cooler gift, AND it encourages reading! I can't believe this is his last day of school in 2011. Time certainly seems to be going by very quickly.

Tomorrow morning is the BIG day! We are going to head to Dallas. We are planning to leave the house around 9:00. Before leaving I have to go gas up and get Isabella and Isaiah's gifts. I am either getting them each a DS game or a gift card. Either way, I am going to Game Stop very quickly then heading back home to get the kids all loaded up. We should reach Dallas around 1:00 and we are debating going to the Tailgating Party, or watching the game before the Texans. I can't get over how many interviews my dad has given. He has been on the news every night on just about every station! This is just such an exciting time. I am so proud of him and all the coaches and the team...but especially my dad. He has been coaching for 32 years. The man is a saint. He truly is a spectacular man. I remember when I was growing up, I kind of resented football. My dad was always working. First practices start in early August...and the season isn't over until they lose in the play-offs...unless of course they make it to state - and then it isn't over until..well, NOW! Then, because he is the Athletic Director, he always had to be present for the other sports, basketball, baseball, track...basically he was ALWAYS working. Even during the summer when most teachers are off, he was running football camps for the elementary kids. Once I got to high school I learned to really appreciate all of my games that he was able to make it to, even if he was late getting there - he really tried to be there for all of them. I love my dad so much. I am always shocked and amazed at how many former players and even their parents, former collegues, or even just members of our former communities (Rotan, Iowa Park, Glen Rose) and even people that my dad went to school with come out to support him. Tomorrow at 4:00 there will be people from each of these categories as well as my entire family cheering on the Texans. All 3 of my dad's sisters and their entire families, cousins, my dad's mom (Memaw), even my mom's side of the family will be there! Anyway - I am just so proud of him. I am super nervous about the game itself though. Argyle will be a tough team to beat..we really have our work cut out for us!
If you are at all interested in watching the game it will be on Fox Sports SW...here is the info...http://www.uiltexas.org/football/state/broadcast-information
set your DVR and watch or catch up to live action when you get home from work!!! Maybe me and the family will even get to be on the jumbo screen! LOL

Also, they delivered the wood to start the framing of the house yesterday. I was so excited, I thought they might start on it today...only to wake up to a monsoon! Yuck, again...I will say, I encourage the rain...but I still want my dang house built! LOL The rain has seemed to stop, so they may be able to start this afternoon, or more likely tomorrow - if it doesn't start raining again. YAY!

out and about

Okay, another post for today...Just wanted to say that today is my nephew Isaiah's birthday!!! I can't believe he was born 6 years ago today.
Also, I got off my butt and went shopping. I got Logan's teachers their gift...some candy and an ornament. I also finished the kids clothes shopping! Woohoo. So all I have left is something for Isabella and Isaiah, and Tyler - JR's nephew. And of course, Logan's Mario Kart and Landry's magnet toy! YAY
The end of last week and the Monday were hectic for me. I have been doing so much each day so yesterday, I took an easy day. Logan was off to school so I drove by the house on the way home....we have a slab. They have removed the forms, but because of crappy weather, they wont be able to start framing the house until Friday or next Monday! Geesh, seriously we are in such a drought, we still need another 15 inches to get out of the "Draught" status, but it doesn't rain all summer, and the second we start to build a house....it rains every week. I told JR that if it turns into another really hot summer we should just start building houses to insure the rain! LOL. Honestly, I can't complain because we need the rain, and they will have plenty of time to build my house. I just get so excited about it...but seriously, we will take all the rain we can get! Anyway, so yesterday, I decided to finish wrapping the gifts that I have. I decided to wrap Santa's gifts in a different wrapping paper than the rest and those are staying in my closet until Christmas eve. It's honestly amazing to me how much money you can spend and then once everything is wrapped it amounts to 10 presents. I still have to get several things. I still have to get Mario Kart for Logan's DS, and I want to get him a Team Umizoomi game, at least 2 more pairs of jeans, maybe a few more shirts, and perhaps a stuffed mario toy for his bedroom. I still have to get the magnet toys for Landry, and perhaps another tag jr book and some more clothes.

I plan to do some more shopping today, because I forgot to get Logan's teacher a gift. Ughh. It's nothing big, I think I am just going to buy them both an ornament.

Last night, our community put on an "everybody wins" bingo night. Basically they invite the people that have been renting and try to get them to buy. Seriously, these people have been bugging us since NOVEMBER 1. Our lease isn't up until Feb. 29. Seriously, it is starting to piss me off! Anyway, the grand prizes were A nintendo wii + mario games, a DVD player, a $100 gift card, and a $50 gift card. Other prizes included a 12 pack of toilet paper, candles, a poinsetta, a crock pot...etc there were only 4 families there, and basically each family gets a number, when your number is drawn you get to go to the bingo machine and give it a spin to see which ball drops. The ball is then matched to the prize. For example, all the prizes are in one corner and each one is labeled with I19, or B6....if the ball that comes out when you spin is B6, that is the prize you get. If however you are willing to fill out the application for purchasing your home, or get an extra spin. 2 families took the extra spin...since we are building a house, we did not. We were the last family to spin...I let JR do it because he is luckier than I am....and of course we won the freaking Wii! Too flippin funny. Logan was playing with another kid so I told JR to run it out to the car before Logan could see it. LOL I guess Logan just got a new gift from Santa! However, JR said that maybe we should hold on to it until March and give it to him as a birthday gift...As it is now, the kids have taken over the tv. Logan has a tv in his room, but it doesn't have dvr on it. Ughh. When we move into the new house we are going to buy a 60" for the living room and put the 42" in the play room upstairs, so JR was thinking we could wait until then and set it up in the play room for his birthday. It's a pretty good idea, but it is also going to be difficult to hide the darn thing for another 3.5 months.

Anyway, I better get off of here so I can head out and get busy with the shopping other wise I wont be home until 6! The kids are already cranky...so YAY! It should be a very fun day! LOL

Broken House!

We Finallly took our Christmas photos...but guess what, I got my camera out to take the photos and the screen is completely screwed up! Grrrr. So I need a new camera! Then I tried to load the SD Card into the computer, but that is broken as well! Because I am so smart, I decided to use the USB converter...but all 5 USB ports seem to no longer functions! WTF??? So, I spent the entire day out of the house AGAIN. I went to Target and ordered my Christmas cards there so that they would be printed in the same day...not exactly the same quality as shutterfly, but oh well. This was of course after being at the bank for 2 hours doing paper work for the house. So, basically, I need a new computer and a new camera! Yikes! I ended up printing a CD so that I could upload my photos on the computer...thank goodness that drive is still working! LOL Here is a cute photo that I love, but isn't on the Christmas card!
Now I have to finish wrappping gifts, and I still have a few more to buy, but that will have to wait until next week. I am still recovering from the past 5 days...plus, we have to go to Dallas on Friday! YAY = Hopefully I can hit up the mall there...ALONE and JR can take the kids to watch the 4A and 5A football games. LOL, yeah right!

Santa ,Shopping, Football, Decorations, House

On Friday I actually did it, I took the kids to the mall in Austin to see Santa. Luckily the line was only about a 15 minute wait. Logan was so excited and such a good kid. It really is amazing to look back and see how much more exciting Christmas is to him each year. Landry was not all that impressed. She REALLY doesn't like for me to leave her side. Even when I just walk away to leave her with JR she gets upset...that intensifies when the other person is a stranger!

After our visit with Santa, I decided that I might as well do some clothes shopping for the kids while I was there. This was not my finest idea! It was okay for about an hour and a half...but then it turned a little chaotic. Logan wanted to go into a toy store which I promised he could do if he was a good boy...the problem was, he really was a good boy so I had to take him. Turned out to be terrible. He wanted this $50 Super Mario chess game. First, you can get it from Amazon for $30, second, he doesn't play chess he just wanted it because it has all the mario characters as chess pieces. GGRRR. I tried to compromise, okay - not really. I offered to buy him a $3 mario candy dispenser. He fervently declined, so we left - he cried the whole way out to the car. Part of the reason it took so long to shop is because Logan is in a wierd stage for jeans - as is Landry - which requires for them to actually try on the clothes. Trust me, this is a terrible thing to dress and undress and dress and undress kids their age over and over. I FINALLY found Logan a pair of jeans after 2 stores and about 8 different brands...the only ones that fit right...of course Polo! So, I only bought 1 pair and will have to go back and buy a few more next week after pay day. The problem is that in October I bought him some 5 slims because his jeans just weren't long enough. However, apparently he has had yet another growth spurt and now the 5 slims are not only too short - they are also now too tight in the waist, which were just perfect 2 months ago! The 5 regulars fit in the waist (as long as its adjustable because they are still a little big) but they are too short, so I had to find some 6 slim...unfortunately each brand is different and therefore took several attempts to find a pair that worked. I had this same problem with Landry - but I gave up and bought tights and dresses! LOL

Later Friday night we drove to Bastrop to watch my dad's Wimberley Texans play in the state semi-final game. I have to say that both teams had some ridiculously stupid mistakes but somehow we were able to pull out a win 21-14, which means that Friday we will be playing for the whole shebang. The State Championship in Cowboys Stadium at 4:00pm.

Before we left for the game, Logan and Landry made some toilet paper roll reindeer! I should have gotten some better glue than elmers....but they are very cute. Today, we traced all our hands and then I cut them out so we could make some wreaths, they turned out really well. So very cute! So, now all that is left is to take the Christmas photos, which I am hoping to do in about an hour or two, before we head to dinner for Isaiah's birthday celebration!

They poured the foundation today on our house! YAYYYYY! They should start on the framing mid next week!

Another busy day...and another

Yesterday was a little busy, but I made it worse for myself - OF COURSE! After dropping Logan off at school, Landry and I headed to San Marcos to get my car an oil change that was about 3,000 miles overdue! YIKES! I took it to Wal-Mart, so while I was waiting for them to finish my car, I did some more shopping. My nephew Davin is really in to angry birds so I found this great game where you set up blocks and the actually launch a bird! pretty cool! I also had to buy a book for Logan's class, they are doing a gift exchange so each kid has to bring a wrapped book. Of course while I was standing there looking at the books I saw "The Night Before Christmas" so I bought that for myself. I had one that I read to Logan every year, but last year Landry got a hold of it...so it needed to be replaced!

Next, we headed to Hobby Lobby, there are a couple of crafts that I want to do with the kids, so I needed supplies. Unfortunately, I went a little crazy. I loaded up my basket with stuff to decorate the fireplace for our pictures, then, saw something else, and changed my mind so I un-loaded everything and loaded up with my "new idea". Then I found something else and repeated this process twice more. UGHHH - by the end I removed everything and only got the stuff I needed for crafts with the kids...except for some yarn...I bought a really lovely new yarn!

I spent too much time in San Marcos, so I rushed home - but I made a quick stop at the dollar store for some juice boxes, Dr. Pepper, and Diet Coke for my mom. Then we drove my the new house...unfortunately because of the rain and weather - not much happening there...but there were electrical people out there working. (AND...They called JR with the weekly update, and told him they would either pour the foundation today - friday - or Monday! YAY...can't wait to drive by in a few hours.) Finally, I got home and started picking up more of the house. Since my mom was coming to watch the kids while JR and I went to his Company Christmas party....the house was in need of some deeper cleaning, which I was trying to get finished by 4:30 so I would still have time to get ready. Luckily, it all worked out.

The Christmas party was a little odd. It was an adults only party, but the wierdest thing was that there was no Company talk. The last company JR worked for, they would do dinner, and then afterwards, the owner would stand up and give a little speech (okay, it wasn't little) and then he would hand out individual awards. This company's owner travels from Houston, and then never says a word. It was the same way last year. I mean, he says hello and everything - but there is no speech, every one just sits around talking and eating and then they leave! It was strange.

I STILL have NOT taken the kids to see Santa...UGhh. This week has been so busy, I just wouldn't get it done. Today, I am wanting to get the ornaments and decorations done with the kids, but I guess we could go up to Austin today...??? I dont know. Maybe if I stopped typing and got them ready we could go in about 30 minutes, then come home and do decorations. Hmmmm...I think I will give it a try. I am also going to try to talk JR into doing our Christmas photos tonight before we leave for the game. The problem is that this is going to make every one pretty unhappy because we will all have to change clothes twice...but it is already the 9th, and I seriously need to get those photos ordered. I am thinking that because it is so late, I may just take them to Target, and do the Christmas cards there so that I can try to get them in the mail next week. Ughh! There is seriously so much to do.

Also going on...JR's cousin JD and his wife Andee just found out that the little girl she is pregnant with, is actually a little boy! So ha!...it isn't just me that this happens to. Although at least they were lucky enough to find out halfway through the pregnancy rather than at 39 weeks! LOL

My nephew Isaiah's birthday is on Wednesday. I dont even know what to get him for Christmas, let alone his birthday! My mom said she was going to pick the kids up tomorrow, so I guess I better get him something today! I guess thinking so much about him I started to think about my sister. The last time I heard from her was on my birthday (June 14). It has literally been 6 months and it was mid May the last time the kids saw her..7 months with no contact with your kids...I just can't imagine. Now that I know that the kids are coming in town it kind of screws up the plans for tonight. Logan was going to go stay the night with his Aunt Boo (Vanessa). Last week he was really upset that he couldn't go with her, bo she told me to bring an overnight bag so he could stay the night with her, but now that Isabella and Isaiah will be in town, he will probably want to go with them! Grr. Oh well, I am just going to take the bag, and he can go with who ever he wants...of course I mean either my mom, my sister, or me...not just anyone! LOL

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

since my last post

Okay so I haven't posted in a week..sorry. Things have been crazy around here, and they continue to be that way. So I am going to try to recap quickly!

Saturday night my dad's football team played in the State quarter-finals His team won, so they live to play another week. We will play this Friday night against ColdSpring - Oakhurst. This will be a rematch of sorts since we played them last year in this very same game (the semi-finals) and they eat us advancing them to the State Championship. So, basically who ever wins this game will go on to play in the State championship at cowboy stadium on December 16th. Nerves are already wracking my body.

Sunday was a lazy day. I wanted to take the kids to see Santa at the Baptist church but JR wanted to watch the Texans, so I settled for reading a few books!! BTW I am only 19 books away from my goal!

Monday, I cleaned house...well I picked up, there is still plenty to clean. Logan was a big helper which was pretty cool. Then I did some online shopping for Christmas! Whew!

Tuesday, I took Logan to school, then went to Target where I got extremely overwhelmed so I called JR, and he told me to wait for him so he could help. So, I just walked around for a while to waste time since I still had two hours until he took his lunch break. Then I drove over to HEB and did the grocery shopping, by the time I was loadinng up JR was 5 minutes away. We met at subway for a quick lunch then headed back to Target. I bought a few things...let me just say that JR drives me nuts sometimes. He wants me to wait for him so he can help, but then he just walks around and when I show him what I was wanting to buy he says, "yeah, I guess."
Me: Okay, well whats wrong with it?
JR: "Do you really think they will like that." UGHHHHHHH
ME: Okay, well, what do you think we should get?
JR: I don't know..I'm going to go look at the TV's
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Are you kidding me!?! What was the point in me waiting for him?
Anyway, I took Landry over to Kohl's for a quick look. Sometimes they have some really great stuff and I can get ALL my clothes shopping done at once...other times (like yesterday) they have nothing. So, at that point it was time to pick up Logan. Afterwards we drove by the new house...nothing new there, and headed home where I put away groceries and did some more picking up.

I was hoping to take the kids to the mall to see santa today, but it just isn't going to work out. I have a lot of stuff to do around the house. My mom is coming to watch the kids tomorrow night while JR and I go to his company Christmas party. The biggest problem is that I needed to go to get the kids their Christmas outfits...Logan has school pictures tomorrow, and we REALLY need to do our Christmas card photo...and I still have to go to Hobby Lobby because the kids and I are going to make some ornaments AND I need to finish decorating the fireplace...which is where we are taking the photos! Ughh... I seriously have so much to do! CRAP! time to prioritize!

Christmas

Yesterday, I took the kids with me to the dentist. I was pretty worried about taking two small kids to get my teeth cleaned. Logan was pretty good. He talked constantly, to me, the dental hygienest, the wall, his blocks. Landry was doing great, until I opened my mouth and the cleaning began...then she started SCREAMING at the top of her lungs. I ended up having her lay on my stomach. She never made a sound after that, she just watched the entire process. It was pretty funny.

On the way home, Logan and I talked about Christmas and Santa. He said he wanted to put up the Christmas tree, so I told him we could when we got home as long as he picked up all his toys. He was so excited that when we got home, he got started immediately! When it was all picked up he was jumping up and down, but I told him I had to vacuum first. So of course, he asked me over and over again if I would hurry up and vacuum. So I did. Then I went out to the shed and dragged the tree and the decorations boxes inside and spent a few hours putting it all together. Logan was funny with his help. He counted every little item. We had a discussion about stockings and Christmas socks which was pretty funny. When JR got home they talked about Santa, and Logan had all kinds of questions about how Santa got down the chimney, how reindeer fly. It was all very interesting...our answers consisted of a lot of the word, "MAGIC." Now, I have to get on pinterest and find some cool ideas for Christmas decorations and things to do with the kids!

I also found out yesterday that we have a meeting with the contractor tomorrow at 3. The meeting has to happen before they pour the concrete for the foundation. So woohoo!
