So its Monday and we are coming off one of the best weekends EVER! We left for Houston Friday evening...I was so excited but after getting about a mile down the road I realized that I ahd already forgotten about 7 items from my list...one of them being the list itself. Nothing major, so I didn't worry about it - chapstick, sunglasses....all small things that could be bought while we were there. Then we got to Katy only to find out that Jason and Lisa were going to have another person staying at their house that night as well...ehhh...oh well, I was determined to not let anything bring me down. We got to Spring and stayed up talking to Jason (Lisa was at work). Davin and Logan went hogwild...so excited to see each other! I got Landry down, but it was past her bedtime so she was a little crabby. Logan also stayed up WAY past his bedtime, but I let him because he was just so happy to see his cousin. I ended up sleeping on the floor with Logan and Davin, while they watched "Happy Feet"....I was tossing and turning all night, my hips hurt so badly. Apparently Landry woke up during the night and JR got up with her and put her back to bed which on one hand was absolutely wonderful and on the other hand not so great since I woke up at 5:30 and the whole front of my shirt was soaked with leaked breatmilk....oops! I was so tired I just went back to sleep. Not for long, I heard Landry making noise so I thought I would sneak in and get her, but when I walked in the room JR had her and they were playing. He said that they had gotten up at 6:00. It was only 6:15, so I am glad that they weren't up long. I fed her...and man it was a relief! LOL We all got up got ready for the beach and left their house at 8:45. We got to the beach about 10:30 and set up our tent..JR and I were cracking up at each other...it was so incredibly windy and overcast. Its funny to think about how relationships change overtime. When we first starting dating JR and I would argue pretty much anytime we tried to put somthing together....now we just laugh at each other. Anyway, it wasn't long before the groups started arriving. Before I knew it, it was 3:00...the sun was staring to peek out from behind the clouds, and I was lucky enough to see that Logan looked a little pink, so I slathered sunscreen on him, and put some on my shoulders and face....which is probably the only thing that saved me from being scorched. by the end of the day I was pink, but its already gone now! Whew.
My kids were amazing, Landry went down for a nap at the beginning of the day and then a LONG nap in the middle of the day. Logan took a long nap as well, and JR and I got to enjoy a couple hours of kid free time...we just took turns going and checking on them. Our friends, Nikki and Travis and their 10 month old Aiden, came out for the festivities and I was surprised and excited that their baby was so wonderful too and they were able to stay the entire time! It was such a relaxing day...The best mother's day I have ever had! I have so many pictures - I will post later...my stupid uploader is acting up! We left the beach to check in to our hotel, which was so nice....we took showers and then went to Salsa's with everyone for dinner! Again, the kids were amazing! It was so wonderful! By the time we got back to the hotel JR and I were ready to crash. I put a movie on for Logan....he was out about 10 minutes later...but Landry was cranky...because AGAIN she was off her schedule...yuck! I walked around holding her and singing to her for about 20 minutes and then put her down...she made a few noises and gave up and fell asleep. JR got up with her in the middle of the night...which turned out to be about an hour and a half....it was rough. She finally went back to bed.
Sunday we got up LATE!!!! hahaha...We slept in until 8:00 laid around for a bit then got Logan up and got dressed to eat our free continental breakfast. The hotel we stayed at had a putt putt course so we played with Logan...he had a blast - of course. Then he went to my Grandmother's house to visit for a while. I love my Nanny more than words can describe. She is so amazing, and its been a really bad year for her. The 1st Anniversary of my papa's death is July 17th...so I am planning to make another trip down there to be with her....because I know it will be incredibly hard. After visiting for a couple of hours we headed to clear lake to meet up with our friends Scott and Ashley for lunch at pei wei. We chatted for about 2 hours before loading up and heading home.
Once we got home, we decided our family time just wasn't quite over, so after we unloaded the car, we set up the chairs and got out the bean bag toss and set it all up. JR and I played 5 games...he won 4 games, and I won 1...He wins at EVERYTHING! We had such a great time in the front yard with the kids and each other. It really was a perfect way to end the weekend!
On another note....JR and I are in a fantasy baseball league together, and it just so happened that we played each other last week. We made a friendly bet that whoever lost had to do dishes and laundry for a week with no complaints....I was winning....but wouldn't you know that by the time it was over we ended up tied! So - I guess that means we will be sharing in the chores! hahaha! This week I am playing Jason (my brother-in-law). Geesh!

It was a great weekend! Awesome to see you guys again. We'll have to plan a trip to your new place this summer, but not until the chaos of May blows over. Phew!
