Last week Logan was sick with a cough. The cough has continued, but he seems to finally be on the mend. Unfortunately, Landry is on day 3 of her cough/sore throat, and last night was terrible. I think we got about 4 hours of sleep off and on. I am so tired. Hopefully she feels better soon.
Yesterday we had a meeting at the bank...oh yes, ANOTHER one. It was pretty simple really, we were just going over numbers and talking about when to order the final appraisal of the house. The house has to be 100% complete before the appraisal can happen and sent off to USDA, then two weeks from then for the final approval before we close. I have written about this before, and for those of you who have ever built a house you can understand the construction delays. For those of you who ever bought a house you can understand the delays that come along with the bank or the owner and what not. So, according to our builder the house will be 100% complete by the end of next week (Feb. 10). WOW! This date has moved up and back and up and back again so many times, that I really hate to get my hopes up. They put the counter tops and sink in the Kitchen yesterday afternoon. Today they are FINALLY putting up the door to our closet in the Master, and the doors to Landry's room and closet and finishing the trim in her room. I seriously dont understand why they would not put all the doors on at the same time, but whatever. They also put the front sides of the gate to the back yard yesterday, but didn't do the back of it...again, why only to half of the job and have to come back later to finish it??? Ughh. Our counters look AMAZING though.!! I am hoping that when I go to get Logan this afternoon the plumbers will be there. We still need the counters in the bathrooms, and the things like shower heads, and faucets and toilets...so hopefully that gets done today and tomorrow. During our weekly update last week they said they would be laying the flooring (carpet) by the end of this week, which means that next week should just be touch ups...at least I would assume. I guess they are going to put some sort of plastic over the carpet so it doesn't get dirty??? Again, that is just my guess. They still have to put the shutters on the outside of the house and finish painting the front door and the garage door, and do the touch ups around the trim. Anyway, there is still a lot to do, so it's hard to believe that they will get it all done in 10 days...well 9 since they dont work on Sunday. We are going to try to get the appraiser out there somewhere between Feb.8 and 10th, meaning we should hear back from USDA around the 24th and HOPEFULLY be closing on the 27th. I am soooooo hoping this happens and we can stay on this schedule, because this would mean no staying with my parents! Plus, if it works out like this then I should be able to make it to my friend Nikki's baby shower on the 26th without conflicting with the move. I really want to go, so I hope it all works out!

What's up?
Today is the day I am supposed to start on the house. I am going to try to get the Christmas tree down...I know, I know! I am also starting in the back of the house. This week I think I am just going to concentrate on throwing things away. Next week I will get some things packed. Then the following week I will work on some deep cleaning. The last week of Feb. I will need to finish the packing and the cleaning and we will be good to go! I also have to get to the grocery store today...ughhh! Plus, I was really wanting to make Logan's Valentines Day cards for his class because I saw so many cute ideas on pinterest (which is slowly killing me because of my insane obsession!) I have so many boards and pins...I really need to go through and organize that thing. I tried to find a cute project to do, just to get started on...but out of 900 pins, I couldn't decide on a single one...how sad is that? I think its because I just want to start off easy...and actually I did do one.
We met up with my parents and my little sister and her boyfriend on Friday night for dinner. I had bought my mom a picture frame for a family photo of us at Christmas, The frame had some really pretty decorative carvings...or whatever you call it, but the color of the frame was just ugly. I found the frame at the dollar store for $3, and then I bought some cherry red spray paint from Wal-mart...and voila. It became a really pretty picture frame...unfortunately I didn't take any pictures...BUT, I will definitely bbe doing more of those...In fact I may be spray painting some of the frames I already have. I will be sure to take pictures of all my crafts for now on becaaaauuuse....
I FINALLY got my camera! YAY. I went with the Nikon L120. It is kind of a hybrid between the SLR's and the point and shoots. Technically it is a point and shoot, with an amazing zoom (21x). I am so impressed so far...#1, I can take pictures at night - with my old camera, it was possible, but they always looked really strange, and there had to be at least some light present. This camera can take a picture in complete darkness and still get a great image. #2, the speed of this camera is wonderful. With my phone, and my old camera my biggest complaint was that I had to wait before taking a photo, and then once I did, I had to wait another minute or so before I could take the next one! So frustrating when you have kids and you are trying to take a serious of shots quickly. #3, Image quality and stabilization...the quality of my photos is much better, with my old camera I was able to capture some good shots, but this camera is just awesome, I seriously cant believe how much I love it. The other thing was that if my kids were running and I took a photo they would always be blurry, even in sports mode. Plus, I have very shaky hands...seriously very shaky, so sometimes even if what I was trying to take a picture of was very still, it was still blurry. This camera has an image stabilization that really helps and so far I haven't had any really blurry shots. I am still learning all the different modes and testing things out, but here are a few of my favorites so far...

More good news...
Yesterday we received our "30 day to close" notice. Obviously we wont actually be closing in 30 days, because of the USDA loan stipulation that it has to have a 100% completion appraisal, but this does mean that we will be ready for that appraisal in about 3 weeks. Add on another 15 days to get the approval from the USDA underwriter and we should be closing sometime during the week of March 5! Woohoo. I have also talked JR into letting us stay at the house until the very last day (Feb.29), so that means we shouldn't be at my parents for more than 2 weeks. YAY! Monday, I am going to start the boxing/throwing away process. I figure if I give myself 4 weeks to pack up the house, I can go slowly and be more organized!
Last night we went over to New Braunfels to eat dinner with Dana and her boyfriend Edgar. It was really nice to hang out, it's been forever since I have seen Dana. We have made a plan that once we get into the new house we are going to try and do dinner once a week at each other's house. She made some amazing chicken enchiladas...MMMM! Yummy!
I am hoping to get together with my parents tomorrow night for dinner...hopefully Vanessa will be able to meet up with us as well.
I have been glued to pinterest this last week. I think JR and I have settled on doing a red, white, and blue theme for the house. I have so many projects that I need to get started on for the house. I am hoping I can do about two a week...we will see. It may be hard to do that and packing and cleaning and be a wife, mother, and cook! I guess we will see how it works out. I had found some really cute nautical stuff - but JR wasn't too impressed, soooo Red, white, blue, patriotic, and Texas is the theme...I just hope I can get it all looking right and that I will have enough stuff to make a good start on decorating the house, and accumulate a little more over time. As I go through the house though I realize more and more every day more and more stuff we need. New towels, new comforter and sheets for each bed, new pillows, more towels, new dishes, napkins, I would like to get a nicer set of silverware...oh the list just keeps growing!
The week is almost over! I am ready for each week to go by just as quickly as this one has! We are about 6 weeks away from closing...YAY!

Going back
First, let me just tell you that they started to work on the tile today at the new house! Yay...I do NOT remember picking out tile this dark for the master bathroom...but here is a picture...its just sitting in the garage - they are just cutting it right now...
Now - since there isn't much to tell, I am going to post some photos. I was going through some old photos and thinking about how much my babies have changed over the years - so rather than take you through each kid and their journey I decided to use Christmas photos...keep in mind that Logan's first Christmas he was 9 months old... here ya go
Isabella, Isaiah, and Logan - Christmas 2007
It's blurry, but here they are again. Christmas 2008
My family with the new addition of Landry (2 months) Christmas 2009
This was actually taken in October, but we used this as our Christmas 2010 photo.
Our Christmas card photo 2011. Check it out...it's not just my kids that have changed - JR looks so different after losing so much weight!
I can't believe how fast my babies are growing up. Landry just turned two in October and logan will be 5 at the end of March!
Logan stayed home from school today with a cough...and let me just say - they are DRIVING ME NUTS. However, looking at these pictures and seeing how fast the time goes really puts thing in perspective. They wont be my babies for long (well, they will ALWAYS be MY babies), they are growing up so fast.

In my life...
I try to blog as much as possible, I do it as a sort of diary, something that I can go back to and re-read and remember the little things that are so easy to forget. Not that I forget the major things...but the when and the how. This is why I love to blog. Sometimes its just a place to vent, and that's okay too because it's like my own personal therapy session without having to sit on an uncomfortable chair and tell my thoughts to a stranger. Sure, anyone can read my blog - so technically I am telling millions of strangers that happen to come across this page...but its just different. I can't see those strangers! My life has taken some pretty exciting twists lately and there is so much I am proud of...so today's blog is about the happpenings in my life right now. Some of this has already been written about ad nauseum - but hang in there and enjoy the recap!
JR and I - We are accomplishing a dream. We are so excited that in just a couple of months we will be living in our first home. A home that we actually own. When we first thought about owning a home, we assumed that we would buy a house that we could live in for around 5-7 years and then we would build our own house. By some miracle, we were able to skip straight to building our own house! I can't believe that in around a month the house will be completed. It is a very very exciting time for us. We are nearing our 6 year anniversary, and our 3 year wedding anniversary and I have to say that I love him more today than I did while we were dating...or even on our wedding day. I hope that we continue to grow together and love each other more and more as the years go by. One thing that I can say about our relationship is that while JR may not have changed from the person he was when I met him, he has molded and conformed over the years, ans so have I. What I mean by that is that is that JR and I are the same people we were 6 years ago. We still see life in mostly the same way, but as time has gone by and we have become a couple and had children, some of the things have changed. We have molded to make family goals instead of just individual ones. I have learned not to harp on JR about cleaning or doing dishes or taking out trash...because it only causes more headaches, but I have learned to appreciate the times he does do it. When we first married - this was seriously our biggest battle. Our second was money and spending habits. I wont lie...we still argue about the cleaning and the money sometimes, but over the years I have learned to relax a little, and JR has learned to be more cautious. Anyway - so that is JR and I in a little summary...we keep trucking along, and there is no one on Earth that I would rather hold me, go to bed with each night, or wake up with in the morning.
Logan - Logan has been in school for 5 months now. It's only 2 days a week, but I have so much more confidence about him starting Kinder In the fall. He has learned so much in the small amount of time he has been in school and I am such a proud mommy! In the last few weeks alone he has learned his ABC's and is still in that discovery phase where he points out every letter on every sign we see! He is writing his own name which is pretty awesome. He has a little trouble writing other letters but that will come with practice. He loves numbers and is learning to add and subtract the little things. This isn't something he learns at school, but at home. I do things like tell him that I need 5 toys, I will hold 2 and ask him how many more I need and he will say 3. It's just the little things, but I am still so proud and I am really hoping this means he has his dad's affinity towards math! He is doing so much better about crying when things don't go his way...there are still some tears, but he is learning not to cry over everything. I am pretty sure that he is tender hearted as he seems to genuinely be upset when he hurts his sister on accident. I have learned to make sure that when he is in trouble to always tell him that I love him. When he does something on accident I am careful to tell him that I am not mad at him and I think this has really helped. The kid is also a whiz at computers. I can't believe the stuff he can accomplish on a computer! I also think it has helped him discern what letter is what instead of just learning a song. He can actually point out each one. I can't wait for him to learn to read! I still read to the kids at least 3 times a week and I am really happy that I have kept it up! Logan has really come out of his shell sinnce school stared so I am hoping his t-ball season this year will be better. He enjoys interacting with other kids now, which is really awesome, and at home he is content playing with his sister, or playing by himself which has helped tremendously when I am trying to get stuff done. He is an amazing big brother!
Landry - My sweet princess is growing up so fast. She talks so much, and I can't help but be proud of everything she does. She is still a momma's girl which I cherish, for I know it wont last! Don't get me wrong, sometimes I wish for just a moments peace, but I am pretty sure that is normal. Landry has accomplished a huge goal. She is almost completely potty trained in just a week! I can't believe it! She has pooped and peed in the potty. She had only 3 accidents this entire weekend, so now we are ready to move on to the next stage....learning to wear panties! I have put them on her a few times, but when I do, she usually has an accident. We will be working on that this week. I braved leaving the house with her not wearing a diaper this weekend. I made her potty before we left, and we just went to the new house to look around, BUT she still peed in her panties and shorts! OOPS! Once she learns the pulling down the panties stage we will move on, but I am still so very happy that she is getting it all down! Another thing she will have to learn in entertaining herself. She is pretty good about it if she has Dora on, but her brother has been her primary toy, and starting in the fall he will be gone 5 days a week, so I am hoping that it will open up her imagination a little so she can play with some toys or draw...she really likes to color!
I am filled with so much happiness right now, there are still some rocky turns here and there, but I have that feeling where everything is just coming together so nicely and I am just beaming with pride, and joy. And I have learned (from JR) to embrace the gifts we have right now...3 years ago I would have been chewing my nails waiting for the other shoe to drop. Now, I am enjoying the happiness with the knowledge that what ever comes, we will deal with it, we always do!
The house - driveway was poured today, and the painters were there. They painted on Saturday and today were working on touch - ups. Can't wait for the counter tops to go in!
Our Diet - JR is down to 282 so he has lost 15 pounds in 14 days...I hate that he gets discouraged, and that he wishes it was 20 pounds. He is still on a great track, I know he wants to lose more weight and do it even faster than he is...but I just want him to be healthy! I am at 125, so I have lost 5 pounds (even with my cheating ways! LOL) I am planning to start working out here pretty soon..I will probably wait and start on Feb. 1, so maybe I can put on a few pounds of muscle. I have to say that the best part of being on this diet is that I do have more energy - AND I dont have nearly as many digestive problems. We did cheat last night by having Subway...even though we still chose 6" healthy subs (well, JR did...I had a meatball sandwich with EXTRA ranch), it tore my tummy up, I think I have to ease into some of those choices!
So there it is, a summary of the happenings in my life right now, can't wait for the next chapter!

Cabinets
So, this isn't the greatest picture because...yeah, you know, its from my phone since I dont have a cool camera..YET! LOL Anyway, the cabinets are up in all the bathrooms (sorry, I didn't take a picture) and in the kitchen...except that there is yet ANOTHER problem. Ha, of course! What happened is this, apparently when they built the bar for the kitchen, they went with the plans for the regular kitchen. However, getting the breakfast bar is actually an upgrade and changes a few things including where the sink goes, and also adding about 4 inches to the kitchen. While four inches doesn't seem like much, it makes a difference when you try to install cabinets that overlap in the corners...not good! So they had to demo the bar area and move it out four inches. Gah! Luckily it only takes a day to fix and should be finished today. They are also working on the trim, and installing all the doors. Also, apparently when carrying either the doors or the cabinets upstairs, the guy dinged up the wall in several places...so UGHHH - fix that too! I am going to try to go over there today to see how its coming along. Also, I went to my handy stack of paperwork that just about reaches my chin to find the step by step construction time line, which according to that we are about 4 weeks from being done. The contractor called today to update us, and said next week they will pour the drive way, measure counter tops, then the counters and sinks will be installed. We should receive our 30 days-to-completion paperwork on Monday. Today, they are obviously fixing the bar, finishing up the cabinets, painting the trim on the outside of the house, putting the doors on all the rooms and closets inside the house and finishing up the trim...base boards and such. Either today or tomorrow they will cut the curb - this is what has been holding up the pouring of the driveway....basically we still have a curb in front of the house, so the have go in and remove the curb, in order to pour our driveway, and walkways. So there you go. We are just about one month away from the house being completed (CAN'T BELIEVE IT), so I am hoping and praying that we can get the appraisor out there in about 3 weeks...which would mean we could close towards the early part of March instead of the end of March. Which means...we will have more time to finish getting settled in and LESS time living with my parents! Woohoo! So very excited! Can't wait to see the finish product...especially for Logan's party and this summer when we have so many friends and family stay with us to float the river!

Is Landry a cat?
Yesterday marked four days in a row that Landry peed in the potty. YAY! While this is very exciting, I must say that she has only done it 6 times in four days. Once on Sunday, twice on Monday, twice on Tuesday, and once last night (wednesday). I am very proud of her because, the more she uses the potty, even if it is just once or twice a day, the more she gets used to the concept, and pretty soon, she will be using it regularly. The problem is that she obviously pees more than 6 times in four days. Now, some of these times have been in a diaper...I put one one her at night and at nap time, and anytime we have to leave the house...I am totally not risking an accident in her pants in public until she gets better at the process. So where is the rest of her pee going? Yes, well if you have read my blog then you know...ALL OVER THE HOUSE! I will give her credit for at least finding places that hold urine, but her action remind me of a pissed off cat. She peed in my shoe for crying out loud. She literally squatted over the shoe and peed INSIDE of it. Once again, credit for creativity, it does in fact have a hole at the top like a potty does...but a shoe??? really??? ughh! At least she isn't peeing on the floor - this was JR's comment. Very true! Always looking on the bright side. Today, I am looking for another twice-a-day, day. Fingers crossed...I know it would be a little much to ask for three times, or even (gasp) it just clicking and her usinng the potty every time!!! LOL Maybe by tomorrow she will use it 3 times?!!? I can hope. Either way, I am really proud of her. At least she is using it at least once each day, and I know that is really good progress!
After taking Logan to school today, I went by the house...wait for it.....the cabinets are going up today! YAY! They should be finished by tomorrow, so that is really exciting. What was the hold up, you ask? Duh, I totally forgot that after taping and floating and sanding the dry wall they had to have texture! DUH, again. They did look pretty funny, and not that the texture is on, they actually look like real walls! Whew!
We filed our income tax return, and are very excited that we should be receiving it in 1-2 weeks. One MAJOR thing we have to pay off....my speeding tickets. Oops! I received a letter notifying me that due to unpaid tickets in 2001 (yes, you read that correctly - 11 year old speeding tickets) my license has been revoked. So, $1500 for unpaid tickets, then more money to get my license reinstated! Crap! Why did it take so long...dont ask me, I forgot all about them...I mean seriously I was 17 - 18 years old when I got them! Anyway, now that I am going to have to renew my license anyway, I figure I might as well take the extra step and finally change my name legally. I mean, JR and I have been married for nearly 3 years (March 17), I guess its time to take care of that! LOL - Can you tell that I procrastinate alot!? Due to this little hiccup, we may have to put off getting a new bedroom set for the master...:( so sad, I was really looking forward to a king size bed. Hopefully, we can still do it considering we should be saving money while living with my parents in March - which I still have `to talk to them about! I really have to stop putting things off!
I am hoping that nothing else will pop up on us. As of now, pretty much all of our savings is going towards the closing of the house, the income tax return is going towards my tickets and more stuff for the house - and perhaps the cruise, unless we decide to gift it to my parents, which we will probably have to do because I doubt we will have the money. The big ticket items on our list right now...wood floors for the house, 60" LED TV, paint for the WHOLE house, my tickets, my camera, JR's tools, Logan's DS, King size bedroom set (bed, mattress, night stand, dresser, etc.), and I was hoping for a bedroom set for Landry. She may get the full bed that is in our guest room now, but I was hoping to get her a day bed - JR didn't know what this was...so, a day bed is basically a twin size bed that is horizontal in design. Basically, it is usually surrounded on three sides, the head, foot, and back of the bed. Some, but not all, have a trundle bed that slides under it. Anyway...we will have to see! I am hoping to be able to purchase everything, but obviously we may not be able to do that. Oh and bar stools. we were hoping to buy a counter height dining room table, but, for now, we are going to sand, refinish and paint the table we have now, and maybe try to buy 2 extra chairs and somehow either find the leaf or purchase a new one for the one that is missing on our table! I still need to make a decision on when to have Logan's birthday party..I dont want to send invites out too late, but I am hoping to know more by then end of February.
As you can see, there is a lot going on in our near future...I am starting to look forward to summer, when we can be settled in! LOL

singing a song
Logan has been into music lately. He has started to sing to songs...of course since there are so many on the radio, he can't know every song. I have met so many kids who can sing nearly every song they hear on the radio by the age of 3. Mine is not one of those, Landry likes to sing along too...although she doesn't really use words all the time, sometimes she just humms or squeals. Anyway, Logan has started making up songs. They are actually really cute. Yesterday...his song was about loving his mommy and daddy and going fishing with his daddy and sissy. Really, it was adorable.
The cabinets are still sitting in the garage...so, they have yet to go up. Grr...They still haven't poured the concrete for the garage...which I must say is really irritating, but I have to remind myself that it will come in time... I must practice a bit of patience, especially since only yesterday I was talking about the process speeding up. HA I have still not talked to my parents yet about living with them...and time is running out as I need to put in our 30 day notice to vacate by the 29. Grr. I dont know why I keep putting it off except that I, well...I just dont want to ask my parents. I know that they would be okay with it...but I just hate asking for anything.
Today is day 10 of the diet...I am at 128...but I must confess I ate a whole bag of iced animal crackers...I also had a Dr. Pepper yesterday and a king sized reeses. I am TERRIBLE...I know! I will have to try harder, but I think I did get a little scared about seeing 126 on the scale...I really dont want to lose much weight, but I wouldn't mind changing the shape of myself....So, I am going to have to start working out soon....but I am just not ready for that yet. Maybe when we move into the new house since there is nice little trail to use. Anyway, JR has lost 12 pounds...He says that he can already tell that his clothes fit differently...so...this means we will probably be buying him ANOTHER new wardrobe soon!
Happy Hump day!

catastrophe(s)
We are back to the potty training business full speed ahead! We took some time off over the holidays, one, because there was only sporadic success, and two because I wasn't being consistant and knew that because of that I was probably hindering the success rather than helping it along. So, when the holidays came upon us...way back at Thanksgiving and beyond, we stopped. We gave it a break. But on Sunday night I started the process over. I decided that it would be really awesome if Landry could be potty trained by the time we got into the new house. we have about two months to accomplish this goal! Fingers crossed. So far it has gone pretty well. She has used the potty at least once each day, but there have also been some accidents. For one, she peed in her plastic halloween pumpkin. It's still out because she carries it around almost like a purse...she likes to put her toys in it and carry it around...but yesterday, she decided that since it was plastic, round, and open at the top, it should work just as easily as a toilet. Luckily, there were no toys in it....unlucky for me, there is a small hole at the bottom that made disposing for the fluid....er...interesting. This morning, she hopped into the toy bin and peed there....ughhh! Last night she peed on her blanket...at 9:00, right before going to be. This was a catastrophe #1. I had started a load of laundry about 15 minutes prior to the accident, and therefore had to wait until it was finished before I could put the blanket in the wash. Landry is very attached to her "ohwie". Don't ask why she calls it that...she calls every other blanket, "blanket", so it's not that she can't say the word...she just has a special name for her blanket. So, at 9:45 I put her blanket in the wash...by itself, hoping to speed things along since she was crying for it. 10:15 it finally went in the dryer. By this time she had fallen asleep with out it - WHew. At 10:45, she woke up...and apparently that 30 minute nap was enough rest to keep her up all night. So, she finally had her Ohwie...but we were up until nearly 2 before she finally went to sleep again...I am so tired! Catastrophe #2 was that apparently when she peed on the couch (and subsequently on her blanket) she also peed on Logan's DS, which now will not work. So, it's broken...and my son's little heart is broken as well as JR's. Playing Mario Kart has kind of become their thing. They get together and watch each other play and it is a lot of fun for both of them...so...we will be replacing the DS I guess...but not right now because we have so much other stuff going on that I just can't afford it right now. Which leads to my heart break and the fact that replacing the DS may possibly mean that I will have to further delay getting my camera. I seriously hope this potty training business gets completed soon! She will actually hold her pee for hours and then when I put a diaper on her..with in 5 minutes the thing is full. Grrr. I was making her sit on the potty about every 20 minutes, but everytime I would, she acted as if I was punishing her...I don't want her to think that...so now I just ask if she needs to go...she says no. Every once in a while I will ask her to try and she will sit on the potty. So, she seems okay as long as it is HER idea to sit on the potty, and isn't being forced. I am just going to go with it for a while and see how it goes.
The kids allergies are a nightmare. Both of them have some major snot going on right now...GROSS!
IF you are getting irritated at all with my updates on the building of my house, I am going to warn you now that it is probably about to get worse. It seems that from here until the end of February things will be picking up at a steady pace. I already told you that they finished hanging the dry wall. From there, they basically go through and use some sort of paste(?) to adhere all the sheet rock together, then they sand it and smooth it to get it ready for paint. So that is done! We have WALLS! Today they delivered all the doors, and trim. Around noon today the cabinets began to arrive, so I am hoping that they are puting all the cabinets, trim, and doors up as I am typing away. I will check in about an hour after I pick up Logan! From what JR says, they will then start on fixtures...toilets, sinks...of course the countertops...lights...yada yada. So things are moving along and hopefully by the end of the week I can get some photos of the inside. Once they get the cabinets and counter tops, JR and I can start ordering the floor samples. We have now hit another indecision. After closing, we are installing wood flooring through out the first floor, exept for the Bathroom and laundry room which will be tiled. As of now, the guest room will be carpeted, but now we are thinking that maybe we should just go ahead and lay the wood flooring in there as well??? I don't know...it's not that big of a room, so part of me thinks just go ahead and do it...and then the other part thinks...we might as well just use the carpet and we can always replace it later if need be. Plus, I kind of like having carpet in the bedrooms, just so the floor isn't so cold...but I REALLY hate carpet...but at the same time, it isn't a high traffic area either. So, we have a few more weeks before we need to make a decision on that. hmmm.
That's what is going on at Luck household...I am seriously so tired...oh and in case you were wondering, Landry peed on my foot, right about the time I started typing about the house! YAY! SHE REALLY HAS TO GET THIS FIGURED OUT!

Chatting with Logan
So the other night I had a pretty funny conversation with Logan about the toilet. He has been leaving the toilet seat up, and it drives me nuts! So, I decided to talk with him about it. This is about how it went...
Me: Logan, after you finshing going potty, you need to put the toilet lid down.
Logan: No, I put it up to pee and down to poop.
Me: okay, that's good but when you pee, and then flush the potty - you need to put the lid back down
Logan: Why?
Me: ummmm...good question
JR: because if you leave it up the fish wish jump out!
Me: I give JR the "what in hell are you talking about" look.
Logan: There aren't any fish in the toilet
Me: That's right, daddy is being silly. But you have to put the seat down because mommy will fall in if you leave it up.
Logan: Why do you sit down when you o pee pee?
Me: Because I am ma girl, and girls sit down. You are a boy, and boys stand up to pee.
Logan: Daddy stands up to pee.
Me: (How in the hell did we get here???? This is the thought running through my mind) Yup, daddy is a boy so he stands up.
Logan: Well, I cant put the seat down because then I pee all over it.
Me: (UGHHHHHHHHHH) Your right, so come with me and I will show you.
We walk into the bathroom.
Me: Lift the lid...(he does). Do you need to potty?
Logan: Not right now.
Me: Okay, well lets just pretend you went potty, so what do you do after you pee?
Logan: I flush the toilet.
Me: That's right, so when you flush the toilet, I want you to put the lid back down...now go ahead and try....(he does). Now what do you do?
Logan: Wash my hands.
Me: That is right! So let's go ahead and wash your hands..(he does.)Okay, so that is what I want you to do each time...I want you to put the seat down after you finish, Okay?
Logan: Okay. Hey, mommy...
Me: yes sir
Logan: I have to pee now!
Me: (laughing and sighing on the inside) okay, well go ahead!
He used to always put the seat down...but somewhere along the line he just quit..and now is acting like he's never heard anything like it before. Geez. It was an interesting chat.
Some other good news is that they have moved the completion date on the house to Feb. 24. Which is much better for me, I feel like we may actually move in sometime mid-march...but that is still a VERY hopeful date. It probably wont be until the end of March...which means that we will probably have to move back Logan's birthday party to either March 31 or April 7. It will depend on when all of this gets finished. Which also sucks because I am going to have to send out invites....and therefore, kind of need to do so ahead of time. So I am thinking April 7 will be a safe bet...we will for sure be in the house, and have it all put together by then...it's just going to be difficult to explain why he has to wait 2 weeks....especially since he is already looking forward to it this year.

weight loss, other blogs, and dry wall
First, I wanted to say that if you haven't noticed already I am going to be updating JR's weight loss on the chart on the right side of my blog every Monnday...I re-did it today...but I am going to try to do it each Monday. I didn't realize it before, but since we stopped doing the diet at Mother's Day 2011, he gained back about 15 pounds in 6 months. 7-8 of those pounds were in the last couple of months alone, but it really scared him when he realized he was so close to going back over the 300 mark, which is a place he said he never wanted to go again. He has already lost 9 pounds since Monday, so he is back on track. I do, however; wish that he wouldn't have dropped his original goal weight (250) another 25 pounds. He now says he wants to get down to 225. Personally, with his build and bone structure, I think 240 is about right..but we will see what happens. As of now he is hoping to be 250, by the time we move into the new house...which is 38 pounds in roughly 2 months! YIKES! I am down to 126...but again, I have to say that I really think this is a combination of not drinking my 4-5 Dr. Peppers a day and water weight. I am now going back and forth on this because while part of me doesn't want to lose any more weight because my face already looks skeletal...another part of me thinks, hey - if I lose more weight it wont have a choice but to come from my belly, or butt! LOL No matter what, I dont want to go below 120. Anyway, we are just going to keep it up and see how it goes. Last night we had fresh cooked green beans, and barbeque glazed grilled chicken...I ate 2 whole chicken breasts..it was a little insane, but it was sooooo good. Plus, this diet really helps with my digestion problems...I find myself having a BM once every two days instead of once every 4-5!
I was reading my friend's blogs earlier and my friend Alexa wrote about her son feeding his little sister. The point is, that he was feeding her ice cream - which we all know is a very hard thing to share because it's so yummy! But, how amazing that this 3 (almost 4) year old little boy took the time to feed his baby sister who is almost 1.5! It shows what a great big brother he is and in my opinion its a tribute to his parents...they must being doing something right! When I finished her blog, I read my friend Nikki's blog. Nikki is a little over 20 weeks pregnant with her second child, Mila. Nikki wrote, about her son Aiden (2.5) using such good manners by telling his daddy "thank you" for getting him dressed. Another slam dunk in the parenting department. She also said that Aiden was asking about Mila. This can be such a tricky thing to explain to little ones, but I think its great that he is anticipating the arrival of his sister. Logan seemed to be excited before Landry arrived, but once she was in my arms it took him about a week to even get near her. Of course, now he loves her so much and is an amazing big brother...but all this got me thinking. Logan is actaully pretty big for his age, which means that some of the kids he plays with are smaller- duh! He knows that when he plays with kids that are smaller than him he has to be easy. He knows that he doesn't hit girls and he needs to be gentle with them. This has worked out pretty well. When he plays with kids his own size, he can play a bit rougher - but I really dont like the hard core rough housing. He and his cousin Isaiah (6) can play pretty rough sometimes, and I try to hold my tongue...but its just my nature to be gentle...I have always been this way. Even growing up, my sisters, who are 8 years apart, would wrestle and call the fun police because I would be there telling them to stop before someone got hurt...and eventually - someone always got hurt! Anyway, the problem I have realized is that, when Logan plays with a smaller kid...he tries to be gently, but the smaller kid is playing more rough, because he is playing with a bigger kid. Normally this is isn't a huge problem because as they get older they develop more skills, but when Logan (3months from turning 5) plays with a 5.5 year old who is smaller than him - it can turn into some issues. Even though Logan is tall for his age, he is still very uncoordinated sometimes. So, while I have always taught him to play easy with smaller kids - it's really hard to explain that some kids are older than him, but smaller - and Logan usually ends up getting hurt, or he comes to me to say the other kids isn't playing easy. Ughh Like I said his cousin Isaiah who just turned 6 last month likes to play really rough, and he's probably only an inch or two taller than Logan...but most of the time they play really well together. Logan's other cousin, Davin who turned 5 in August, is about an inch or two taller than Logan, but while Logan is a little lanky, Davin is much thicker...and Davin (an only child) doesn't know easy..at all! Logan loves playing with him, but I am constantly worried about him getting hurt. I mean, I am AFRAID to play with Davin...I'm pretty sure he could take me...so I guess my point is that we teach our kids these rules...be gentle, dont hit girls, but what do you do when another kid is older and more coordinated but smaller...and what do you do when your kid is playing with another kid that is being entirely too rough....especially when their parent is watching the same thing you are but instead of discouraging the rough play...they are actually saying, "Get 'em, Get 'em"???
They should be done with the dry wall by the end of the day today. Yesterday they finished the ceilings upstairs and downstairs, and the walls of the game room and Landry's room...so...hopefully that will be finished up today!

Yesterday they finished the ceilings upstairs and downstairs, and the walls of the game room and Landry's room...so...hopefully that will be finished up today!

update from earlier post
Went by this afternoon...dry wall is going up, cable is now in the living room. So...work is being done...I am getting happier. And in the spirit of being happier, I would just like to say that while I may argue with my husband, and he may drive me nuts, I know that I give as good as I get. Sometimes its nice to just get out what I am thinking or feeling, without saying it directly to him because I am not the best communicator and can come across as ummm, er, well, bitchy. So, while I will continue to say things about my husband and how he annoys me, I thought I should just also say that he is pretty awesome and I love him very much.
getting irritated
They finished the brick on the house yesterday! I went by today and the house was locked up, so I couldn't check on the cable to see if it was fixed, but I was able to see that they STILL HAVEN'T started to hand dry wall! Ughh...come on already. I can't believe that this whole thing is being delayed by a cable outlet...seriously, fix it and move on. They were out there with a bobcat to get ready to pour the concrete for the driveway...so, maybe that will be done sometime soon. Hopefully, by this weekend. We got an email from the bank yesterday saying that they recieved our information from KB that the completion date of the house wasn't until March 8 so she attached the information that she sent to our loan manager to extend the loan so that even if we don't close by March 25, we wont have to restart the loan process. This was good news, and took some pressure off...but I still want my damn house built faster. Ughh! I want to be in and set up and ready to go by Logan's birthday which is March 23. We had planned to do a Birthday/house warming party. I guess I just see all these things that need to get done, and yet, it seems like the house (at least the inside) is in the same state that it has been in for weeks now. It just feels stagnant.
Last night JR wanted to talk, so we laid in bed talking about the house, the kids, everything. I told him my fears about moving in with my parents. I didn't say we couldn't do it, just that I really wasn't looking forward to it, but I understood that the reasons for doing it outweighed the reasons for not doing it. He went into this whole thing about why we were going to do it...ummm, Iknow, I just agreed that we were doing it, I was only saying that I wasn't looking forward to it. He got a little upset with me...which pissed me off. I said, I thought we were talking? Sorry that I expressed my feelings...geez. Then he brought up our income tax return and what we were using it on, and pointed out that staying with my parents meant that we would probably be able to afford the King size bed that I want. Still, I was like...I KNOW, I GET IT. GEEZ! Anyway, so when he was naming off all the items on the list of things to buy, I said...well dont forget about my camera. He responded with, Do you want your camera or to upgrade your phone? UGHHH, SERIOUSLY? I told him I was doing both. I have already said before that he doesn't think I need a camera because if I upgrade my phone, the camera on it will be just as good! NO, it will not, and I have explained numerous times that I want a seperate camera. Basically, we started arguing about that, and I finally said...I AM GETTING MY CAMERA, WHETHER YOU AGREE OR NOT. JUST LIKE I DIDN'T AGREE WITH YOU GETTING GOLF CLUBS FOR OVER $400,BUT YOU DID IT ANYWAY. JUST LIKE I DIDN'T AGREE WITH YOU UPGRADING YOUR PHONE FOR $300 WHEN WE WERE NOT COMPLETELY FINANCIALLY READY FOR THAT, BUT YOU DID IT ANYWAY..AND PUT US BEHIND. I AM GETTING MY CAMERA, AND I AM UPGRADING MY DAMN PHONE. IF IT MEANS THAT I HAVE TO WAIT A FEW MONTHS UNTIL WE CAN AFFORD TO UPGRADE, THAT'S FINE...I CAN WAIT. I DONT GO AROUND BUYING THINGS WHEN WE DONT HAVE THE MONEY, JUST BECAUSE I WANT IT SO BAD...I HAVE ALWAYS WAITED, BUT I AM GETTING THE CAMERA THAT I WANT SO GET OVER IT. Then he tells me that if I buy the camera we probably wont be able to afford the house, so I need to choose between the camera and the house...ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Ughh, I love him, but he can really drive me crazy sometimes.
I really try not to keep score, but the truth is, if JR wants something...no matter the cost, he gets it. While if I want something that is expensive, I have to wait. I guess I dont HAVE to wait...but I choose to save up for things, instead of putting it on a credit card, or re-arranging my bills to where I can get what I want now, but I may have to pay a few bills late. And I'm sorry...but my way is right and his is wrong..that's all there is to it. Also, it isn't like he isn't getting something. Hell, he is getting a 60" LED TV...ummmm, way more that my camera and phone upgrade combined. He's getting new tools (although, I can't really hold that one against him, since he needs the tools in order to install the floors). The point is, I get tired of him getting instant gratification, and almost always getting what he wants, while I sit around wanting and waiting. If he wanted practical things, I would understand...i.e. a camera, when you take pictures on a near daily basis. PRACTICAL. Super Expensive Golf clubs when you barely golf twice a year...NOT PRACTICAL. Just like the phone upgrade...I am eligible in March, but hello, we are moving into a house, we have Logan's birthday, AND he starts T-ball on the 24th, plus moving expenses and deposits for utilities...there is so much - which means that I may need to wait a few months before I can afford the upgrade. PRACTICAL - COMMON SENSE! Come on...I am not being crazy here, right? Trust me, I know that sometimes I see something one way and JR sees something another way, and that I can sometimes have a hard time seeing his point of view...but on this one...I really am right, right? I mean, again not to compare (but I am), a $250 camera v. a $1400+ TV. Anyway...I am done venting!

Brick, Diet, back to business and changes!
They started putting the brick up yesteray!! YAY! I took a few photos from my phone (which sucks...can't wait until March for my upgrade)..they are on facebook, but I am going to try to get by there today and take a picture, or I may send JR over to take a picture...his phone camera is much better than mine. But I will either post a photo later today or tomorrow. They weren't able to start on the sheet rock or dry wall yesterday because they were waiting for the inspectors but hopefully today...I need them to get this thing built...NOW because I need this loan thing to be over with!
Today is day 3 of our diet, and I have lost 2 pounds. I asked JR if he would still love me if all I had for breasts were nipples and a flap of skin. I told him if I lost much more weight that is exactly what would happen because while I have plenty of fat in my belly, hips, butt, and thighs...the only place that ever shrinks is my boobs! In a way, all of this was a semi-joke...I dont think I will lose much more, I think more than anything this is a result of losing water weight. No more Dr. Pepper:( But JR did say that if I could keep up the diet and get him under the 225 mark, then he would let me get a boob job! Hell, if he gets under 225, I may only weigh 90 lbs! LOL I told him he should move it to 240...we went back and forth, so I said if he gets under 225, I am getting lipo in my thighs, a tummy tuck, new boobs, something done with my flabby butt, and probably botox, and something done to my neck which seems to have excess skin! HAHAHAHAHA I figured if we were going to point out things that I found wrong with myself, I might as well name them all. LOL IF....a big IF he makes it under 225, he will have lost over 150 pounds. I think that he will probably do what he did before...I think the weight is going to fall off over the next few weeks, probably until he reaches about 260....but then I think its going to be a lot harder for the weight to come off. So I guess we will see, but I just dont think JR's body shape was ment to be thin....healthy and in shape - Absolutely...but I am a little afraid he is going to look anorexic at 225. His original goal was 250, and now he's lowered it...but I think he should aim more for 240, I think it's more realistic, but like I said, we will see.
Yesterday was Logan's first day back to school. He was so sweet when we said good bye. Big hugs, and when I stood up, he said wait mommy, i need a kiss remember? Awwww. Then he gave his sister a big hug and told her to be a good girl for mommy! Sometimes I feel like my heart could actually burst from being so filled with love. I know it sounds cheesy, but sometimes I catch myself just staring at one of my kids and thinking, " I did that!" Of course I had a little help from JR, but I do find myself getting overwhelmed by how beautiful they are, or how proud I am of them. Sure they aren't perfect, but they are pretty darn close. Now, on the other side of this...I am Logan has a tendency to CRY about everything. I dont know if it's just because he is tender hearted, or because he thinks I will coddle hime if he cries. Now, I wont lie, I do coddle my kids - I know I do it, but I do try to limit it. Usually if he is crying because he's hurt, I look at the injury, and if it's minor - I either tell him to brush it off, or I try to make him laugh...but that isn't really what I am talking about....example: "Logan, be quiet." I don't yell it, I dont even say it in a mean voice, but basically he just starts wailing and I can't decide if its because he's tender hearted or because he wants to talk loudly and I told him to stop. It's driving me crazy. I know some of it is just age, but crying about every little thing is going to put me in an early grave. Last night, he was playing with JR, and jumped down on JR's baby maker...JR of course howled, and Logan immediately started crying. Jr didn't even yell at him, so I said, "Logan, stop crying." which just made him cry harder. Finally I got him to listen to me, so I explained that Daddy wasn't mad at him, but that when he jumped on Daddy, it hurt him. I explained that it was an accident, and that instead of crying, he should tell his Daddy that it was an accident, and that he was sorry - and then be more careful...but there was no need to cry. I guess it kind of worked because later he knocked Landry over (on accident) and he said, "Sorry sissy, it was an accident." Then he helped her up and asked if she was okay. Then When Landry hit him with a toy, he told her it's okay sissy, it was an accident...just be careful! So I am trying to use each moment as a teaching opportunity, and hopefully he will get it, but man it's driving me nuts!
Because of building the house, I dont think we are going to be able to go on our cruise...which really sucks. One, because it pretty much already paid for, and two, because I have literally been looking forward to this since June. If you remember..this was supposed to me my birthday present from last year....YAAAAAAAAY(Sarcasm). So now JR is telling me its either the wood floors or the cruise. Insert several four letter words here! I haven't totally given up hope, as I am still trying to rearrange some funds to see if we can still do it, but JR and I decided that if we aren't able to go then we are going to give the cruise to my parents. One, it will be a nice gift to them for letting us stay there for a month, and two June 7 will be their 25 wedding anniversary. So, part of me thinks I should just give it to them as an anniversary gift, because I have always planned to do something like this for their 25th, and yet a selfish part of me still really wants to go. I have never left the country, I've never been on a cruise, and obviously this is something I picked out for my birthday last year!!! So, I will probably end up gifting it, and JR says we can book a cruise for the end of the year, or for next year....YAAAAAAAAAAY (Sarcasm) I get to wait another whole year...so, basically I will be 30 by the time I get my gift for my 28th birthday...which will totally mess up my plans to head back to Vegas for my 30th!

Perks and delays
We had our dry wall meeting yesterday with the contractor. All went well, they are supposed to replace the shower base today, so that is good news. We found another problem. In our living room, the electrician put in a phone outlet instead of a cable. So that has to be done before they hang the dry wall. Ughhh! I am hoping they get that done this morning so they can start on the dry wall later today. I went by this morning after taking Logan to school and they have put up the insulation. YAY! The plumbing inspector, and city inspector will go by today...so we are on our way, I guess. Some other things we noticed...when we were doing our upgrades we decided not to pay to have the garage door pre-wired. It was $220 and JR said he could do it himself for much cheaper, so we used the money elsewhere. However, they already pre-wired the garage! Ha! yay! so we got that for free! Also along the same lines...it was going to cost $75 for each ceiling fan to be pre-wired. We went back and forth on this, because I wanted a fan in the living room and the master at the very least. I would like to put a fan in each room, but once again - we used the money elsewhere because JR said that it wasn't a difficult thing to do and wouln't cost anywhere near $75 and we could use that money to buy the fan. But, guess what...yup, they prewired the living room and the master for fans! HAHAHA. Love it! Apparently the fans and the garage pre-wire is standard for all Heritage Collection homes in our neighborhood, and our house backs up to the Heritage Collection area, so I guess the electricians were just in a rythym of doing it and accidentally did it for our house as well, but hey - I'm not complaining! LOL Thanks for the $370 that you out in my house without me having to pay for it!
Now for the delays...When we first started this process it seemed like perfect timing because our lease is up Feb. 29 and we figured even if we weren't able to close until early March, we could always pro-rate a week or two here. Last Monday, however; we learned that when the bank gave us the commitment letter for our loan, that wasn't exactly final. We were asked for several more things to finalize the loan. I, of course; was like..."what do you mean FINALIZE, they are already building the damn thing, I thought that was pretty final!" Apparently, after getting the approval from the local bank, the loan is then sent to an underwriter at the national branch to be approved. From there, it has to go the the underwriter for the USDA to be approved! WHAT?? Ughh. So, we have already recieved approval from the national bank(or whatever you call it), but before it can go to the USDA, the house has to be appraised, and before the house can be appraised - it has to be finished! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So, basically, once the house is complete (which as of now, the completion date is set for March 8), we have to get it appraised and sent to the USDA underwriter and then it will take 15-21 days to get the approval before we can close. Which leads to another problem...we have until March 25 to close on the house, because that is the "expiration" on the loan committment...if we don't close by then, we have to re-submit everything and start the loan process over! As you can imagine, this is driving me crazy. My hope is that they finish before March 8. The contractor told us yesterday, that it usually takes 45 days to complete a house once the dry wall starts..if so, they should finish the last week of Feb. if everything goes as planned and there isn't any terrible weather. So keep your fingers crossed, because I dont think JR can handle the stress of doing the paper work again.
JR has also asked if I would talk to my parents about staying with them instead of pro-rating the house we are in now. It shouldn't be more that 3.5 weeks...but I just dont know if I can handle staying there that long. Of course, I will just have to stick it out - but my goodness - I may not make it out alive. It will be much CHEAPER than paying for another month of rent here, but I hate the idea of having to move everything into storage, and then move it again into the house...it just seems like so much work - although JR did say that maybe we can use the money we save in rent for movers! I like that idea! Another cool perk...We told the contractor that before we move in we would be putting in wood flooring downstairs and painting the house, he gave JR some tips on the floor, and then said he had miles of extra quarter round trim that he would give JR so that saves us a little money. When I mentioned what a bitch painting the stair way was going to be he told me how to position the ladder and said he would provide a plank for us and even set it up to make it easier, then he said..or, when you are ready to paint, just give me a call and I can give you a number to the painter we use...and he can do it for cheap, and finish it in a day...the whole freaking house?? Really. Apparently the painter can take side jobs, but the contractor can't...but he said he would give us the guys number and since he doesn't speak a lot of English he would try to bring him over and explain it to him! Awesome...If I can get out of painting the whole house I am so for it! LOL
Really quick, because this is already long...a few months ago, I gave up one of my bad habits (dont worry, I still have plenty more). I stopped biting my nails. I have been really proud of myself...but while I was at my Nanny's, my thumbnails snagged on somthing and broke, so now it is driving me crazy because it doesn't match the length of the rest of my fingers. Then last night my ring finger on the opposite side broke (the nail, not the finger) so now it doesn't match. It is taking everything I have not to just clip all the other nails to match, but I have worked so hard to get them as long as they are, so I am going to try to keep them the length they are now and wait for the thumb and ring finger to catch up! Ughhh. It just look so strange right now!
Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Diet day 1 and Houston recap
We left for Houston last Tuesday because JR had to work for the Houston office all week. We didn't get to the hotel until almost midnight, but we were blown away at how nice the suite was. Logan didn't sleep at all the first night..I think he may have slept on and off for about an hour, luckily he was in the living room watching tv so it didn't bother Landry or JR. I woke up just about every 30 minutes to check on him.
On Wednesday, the kids and I hung out at the hotel, Logan fell asleep around 11 and slept until 4. I didn't have the heart to wake him up, especially since the two of them fought all morning long. JR got back to the hotel about 5 so I got all my stuff and the kids packed up. We went downstairs to the hotel happy hour for a couple of beers and hamburgers, then we got on the road to my grandmothers in Galveston. We arrived around 8 and JR went back to the hotel at about 8:30. It wasn't long until we were all in bed.
Thursday was a lazy day in a way. My Nanny wasn't feeling well, I think it was the first time I have ever seen her so run down, it scared the crap out of me. Nanny took several oppotunities to rest, but she just never seemed to feel better. She was shaking and it just really scared me. Nikki and Aiden came over about 5:30 and stayed for an hour. It was nice to catch up with Nikki. Logan was a brat towards the end, throwing a tantrum over a toy. Ughhh drives me crazy when he acts like that. The problem is, Logan doesn't forget. When he gets mad about something, it can go on for days. There are several ways I handle this, but I have found that ignoring the behavior works pretty well. Sometimes in order to ignore him though I have to send him back to his room. Anyway, Nikki is halfway through her pregnancy and she is still so tiny. She was wearing a fun flowing shirt, and with it, you couldn't even tell she was pregnant until the material bunched at the sides. She looked so cute, and I am so excited for little Mila to get here. Maybe she and Landry will be play mates. Logan and Aiden played together while Landry just sat in my lap and eventually fell asleep. Even though Landry and Aiden are only months apart, he seemed to have more fun with Logan. Landry is still in that "not leaving Mommy's side" mode. It's ridiculous, and she wont talk to anyone else...but I keep reminding myself that she will grow out of it.
Friday, my grandmother went to the doctor. She had to get some chest x-rays, and a whole pharmacy of medications. She also had to have oxygen delivered to the house because she was only breathing at about 82%. That took up the majority of the morning and once home, she napped for about 4 hours. I was happy to see that she was finally getting some rest, but it was hard to keep the kids quiet. Carol came to pick us up at 6 or so, so we loaded up her car and headed to meet up with JR and Brittany for dinner. We ate at Dickies BBQ...it was really awesome, then transferred all our bags from Carol's car to JR's truck and headed to the hotel.
It was good to be home on Saturday. We watched the Texans game...and yelled and had so much fun watching it. The rest of the weekend was pretty Lazy. We went over to the house to check things out, we were told they didn't pass the plumbing inspection...apparently, they used our showers in another house, so they new they wouldn't pass the inspection. But then when they put in the new showers....well one of them has a large chunk out of it...the missing chunk was laying on top, but I told JR, that I am not paying for a damaged shower, so they are going to have to order a new one, and I dont want to hear any kind of crap about them glueing it together or anything like that. NO - I want a new UNDAMAGED one. We have our dry wall meeting today at 2 and the plumbing inspector will be there today to test everything again.
Today is day one of our diet. So, I guess we are back to it! I still weigh 130, although when I weighed this morning it was 130.2 - LOL I am not on the diet to lose any weight. I am strictly doing the diet to help JR. He still wants to lose another 60-70 pounds, so I am here to encourage. I have said it before, and I will say it again...the layer of belly fat that I have isn't going anywhere without the use of a plastic surgeon. I have tried the eating right and the exercising...it doesn't go anywhere. I said last year that I was going to use my income tax this year to get it removed...but since everything is going into the house...I may have to wait a little longer. Plus, I still think we may have one more baby in another 3-4 years, so I might as well wait until I know for sure we are done. It depends on how soon I can start taking classes for cosmetology...it takes 9 months to complete if you go full time, and the thin is, I want to work for at least 18 months before I get pregnant again. So I guess we will see!

We are in Houston
Well, we finally got to Houston and into the hotel at about midnight last night. Luckily we are in a Suite so there is plenty of room. I am actually really impressed with the hotel. It's called the Staybridge Suites...if you ever need a hotel, I recommend this one. It has a full kitchen, which is awesome..I'm talking the whole thing, and regular size fridge, microwave, silestone counter tops with a breakfast bar, dishwasher, two top stove. Flat screens in both the bedroom and living room. AWESOME PLACE. The king size bed was so much fun last night, Landry slept with JR and I, but there was still plenty of room. Logan slept in the living room on the fold out couch and watched cartoons...I am going to have to take lots of photos of this place. It's spacious, clean...I love it. The original plan was for the kids and me to go to my Nanny's this evening when JR gets off work. We are all in one car, so I am carless...but, I think we may stay one more night before heading to Galveston. They offer free beer and wine from 5-7, so hmmm..sounds good to me. LOL. JR will be here at the hotel until Friday and then come pick us up when he gets off work so we can head home...anyway...I am just glad we are somewhere nice! All hotels should look like this. I think we may walk across the street here in a while to go catch a matinee!

Changing and mystery solving
I solved a few mysteries over the last couple of days. First, JR really wants a dog, which is where Logan got the idea that he wants a puppy. I think that JR also talked him into wwanting a brother as well - hopefully he was joking:0 Logan also got the idea to paint his room green from JR. Apparently JR asked what color he wanted to paint it and he said purple...of course JR didn't like that so he talked him into green! Those boys are going to kill me!
Last night I went grocery shopping, we are starting our diet again...at least we were supposed to. Granted, we have only gotten through breakfast, but so far I'm doing GREAT - LOL! The problem is that JR just got asked to go to Houston for the rest of this week since the Houston office needs help. So, I asked if the kids and I could come along. I mean, I don't really want to be here alone with the kids for 4 days. He is supposed to find out and let me know. I would really like to see my Nanny and some other friends and family in the Houston area. But, if we go to Houston, I can't exactly cook, so we will have to postpone the diet until next week:( Which sucks because I just got my head wrapped around doing it. I weighed myself last night and this morning, I weigh 130 on the dot, I am not worried about losing weight...I still have the same huge pouch of stomach fat, but oh well. I am only doing the diet to help JR because he still wants to lose another 60-70 pounds, so we are back at it. I will say, that I am happy to know that since we haven't been following the diet since MAY, JR has only gained back about 5 -7 pounds. He is starting at 290, so I guess we will see how it goes this time around. I did warn him though that the weight may not actually fall off like it did the first time, but we will see! So, no more sodas for me:( and back to 4 meals a day...which is actually good for me, because I have found that I have once again gotten in the habit of only eating once or twice a day.
As far as the house goes....everything seems to be going great. The problems we saw before have all been fixed. It is just coming along so fast. The electrical and plumbing have all been done, I know we are still waiting on the cable stuff to be done. I haven't actually been by since mid week last week, so I am going to try to go by today. We should be having our dry wall conference at the end of this week...which I dont know how if we will be in Houston. Maybe we can do it this weekend or maybe Monday??? When they called last weekend, the builder said we should still be set to close by mid Feb. if everything stays on schedule. The selling agent at the office says the deadline is March 7 to have the house finished. So it looks like we are still ahead of schedule. YAY
